The Bellevue office of McCarthy Building Companies has promoted Glenn Laurence to vice president and Stan Hadler to chief estimator within the company’s preconstruction services team. As vice president, Laurence will work closely with McCarthy clients on all the facets of preconstruction services, including estimating, planning, scheduling, budgeting, constructability and project implementation. Hadler will be in charge of McCarthy’s day-to-day preconstruction operations, managing the company’s team of estimators, building relationships with subcontractors and problem solving, all while estimating projects for clients.

Kendall H. Moore has joined the Seattle's Short Cressman & Burgess after spending 10 years with the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office as the supervisor of Professional and Construction Services Section of the Department of Finance. Moore joined the law firm as a member of its Construction Industry Practice Section, where her practice concentrates on contract issues, construction project management and litigation, as well as municipal law. She holds undergraduate and juris doctorate degrees from the University of Washington.

Canyon Creek Cabinet Co. of Monroe has been recognized for outstanding sales growth performance in the 12th Annual Wood 100 Report. The report profiles and ranks 100 fast-growing woodworking companies throughout the United States. Canyon Creek placed No. 62 in the report, with sales growth of 20 percent from 1999-2000. The 21-year-old company is a manufacturer of custom cabinetry and employs about 450 workers.

Seattle-based Lease Crutcher Lewis has hired Steve Norman, Peter Ottele and Scott Chapman as project managers in the company's Special Projects Division. Norman has been in the Seattle construction market for 15 years, including seven at W.G. Clark Construction. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction, architecture and business from the University of North Dakota. Ottele has worked for the Port of Seattle and Lydig Construction. He holds a bachelor's degree in building construction from the University of Washington. Chapman has over a decade of construction experience, including a 5-year stint as an owner's rep for Nike in Portland. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from California Polytechnic University.
