Swinerton Builders

General contractor Swinerton Builders has opened a local office in Bellevue and is expanding the company's operations in Washington. Heading up the office as Division Manager is Keith Henrickson, a vice president with Swinerton with 27 years of construction and management experience. Working alongside Henrickson is Chief Estimator Stan Hadler, a former McCarthy employee. Hadler's job is to lead the estimating department and establish a presence in the Northwest competitive bid market. Currently, the company is performing renovations and tenant improvements for local companies such as Fred Meyer, Carter-Burgess and Fidelity Investors. Swinerton has been in business since 1888, serving Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles and other western cities.

The Papé Group

The Papé Group has completed its acquisition of Smith Tractor Co., a Tacoma-based John Deere construction equipment dealer, and Hessel Tractor of Oregon, a John Deere forestry equipment dealer. Together, the two John Deere dealers operated 11 branches in Washington and Oregon. They now operate under the name Papé Machinery and are headed up by Rodger Spears, the former president of Papé Bros. Inc., a business of the Papé Group. Part of the Smith Tractor acquisition included its four Bobcat Northwest offices. They have been merged into Bobcat West, another of Eugene, Ore.-based Papé Group's businesses

Lease Crutcher Lewis

Akre

Scott Akre has been hired as a senior project manager at Lease Crutcher Lewis in Seattle. Akre worked for McCarthy for 19 years until the firm last fall closed its local office. He is now coordinating a series of projects at University Village, including an 800-stall parking garage. He holds a bachelor's degree in building construction from the University of Washington.

Masterguard Ornamental Iron has moved next to the Ballard Locks after nearly 15 years in the Fremont neighborhood. The new address is: 5350 30th Ave. N.W., Suite D, Seattle, WA 98107. The phone number is (206) 204-0021 and the fax number is (206) 204-0025. The company made the move to gain larger and more modern space.

Snyder Roofing

Snyder Roofing of Washington has achieved 2002 Master Contractor status from Firestone Building Products Co. Snyder was one of 267 firms in the U.S., Canada and Mexico to receive the kudos. Master Contractor status is earned annually by Firestone-licensed roofing contractors based on inspection ratings of EPDM, thermoplastic and asphalt-based roofing system installations. Snyder has offices in Snohomish and in Tigard, Ore.
