Marc Chavez has been elected 2002-2003 president of the Puget Sound Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute. Chavez works at the Seattle office of Merritt+Pardini and holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Idaho. He will head a new board for the chapter that includes president-elect Nora Vivarelli of T&A Supply, vice president David Walter of Coastal Atlantic Associates, secretary Teresa Swick of Teresa Swick Associates, and treasurer Robert Simmons of R.W. Simmons & Associates. The chapter's board of trustees includes architect Sam Morris, Terry Decker of Parker Paint, Anne Whitacre of Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership and Garth Tait of Hartung Glass.

Vanir Construction Management has added Bob Crafts to its Bellevue office. Crafts has 25 years of construction management experience, including alternative procurement approaches. He is currently resident engineer for an expansion of the Lynnwood Transit Center and Park and Ride for Sound Transit.

AGC Education Foundation

The new executive director of the Associated General Contractors of Washington Education Foundation is Leanne Liddicoat, the former AGC of Washington Central District manager. Liddicoat has developed local education programs for Yakima-area construction companies and helped organize and served on the Construction Industry Advisory Council for Central Washington University. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration/accounting from Washington State University.

Aecon Buildings has hired Virginia Redden as a contract administrator. She will assist the company’s project managers and superintendents, and process job-related insurance certificates and claims. She holds a bachelor's degree in engineering graphics with an architectural emphasis.
