Lease Crutcher Lewis hired
Carey Smith as director of marketing. Smith is joining forces in the Seattle office with
Bryce Taylor, director of business development, to lead the firm's marketing efforts. She has a bachelor's degree in English from Princeton University and an MBA with a marketing concentration from Stanford University. She has held executive-level marketing positions at General Mills and Verizon.
Bill Hoyer joined Absher Construction as a quality-control manager,
Jason Horlacher is a new hire in the estimating department, and
Megan Steel is a communications assistant in the marketing department. Hoyer is a licensed professional engineer with more than 40 years of construction experience. He previously was resident engineer for Northwest Airlines' Detroit Metro Airport terminal for 10 years, and also worked for the Navy for 25 years. Horlacher formerly owned an estimating business and has worked in project management. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Washington State University.
Federal Way's DBM Contractors hired
David Bolton to open a Northern California office in San Jose. As operations manager, Bolton is developing and bidding both public and private work. Bolton has worked in specialty geotechnical construction in Northern California for 30 years, including stints at Case Pacific Co., Malcolm Drilling, and Soil Engineering Construction. He holds a bachelor's degree from Humboldt State University.
Mayes Testing Engineers promoted dispatcher
Monica Elliott to administrative supervisor for the Tacoma office. Elliott joined the firm in October 2005. In her new role, she is responsible for dispatch, project coordination and office supervision.
The Inland Northwest Associated General Contractors of America earlier this month elected its 2008 officers and board of directors. The officers include: Walt Haneke of ACI Northwest, president; Clancy Welsh of Garco Construction, first vice president; Mark Poe of Poe Asphalt Paving, second vice president; and Judy Rapp of Wolf-Majeskey-Rapp, treasurer. New directors include Gary Hite of Hite Crane & Rigging, Jeff Middleton of Power City Electric and Kelli Franco of Moss Adams.
Mike Poppoff of Poppoff Inc. in Moxee was re-elected vice president of the American Society of Concrete Contractors based in St. Louis.
