The Mechanical Contractors Association of Western Washington elected Mark Webster of MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions as board president for 2018-19. Other new officers are vice president Stacy Johnson of Auburn Mechanical and secretary/treasurer Jeff White of Holmberg Mechanical. New directors are Frank Leonard of Key Mechanical and Matt Campbell of General Mechanical. Jerry Bush of University Mechanical Contractors is immediate past president. MCA members consist of union-signatory plumbing, piping and HVAC contractors.

Bellevue-based Powell Construction Co. hired Bill Polis as director of business development. Polis has more than 35 years of construction business development and executive management experience. Powell is a general contractor serving Northwest clients for more than 30 years.

Carey Smith was promoted to director of community relations, a new senior position at Lease Crutcher Lewis. The contractor also announced Mark Boden and Brian Arnold were promoted to senior VDC coordinators, and Bree Brewer to cost engineer. Smith previously was director of marketing. She is now focusing on external relationships, business development, industry involvement and community engagement. Boden joined Lewis as a consultant in 2012. He is working on the Rainier Square redevelopment project. Arnold joined Lewis in 2015. He is supporting projects for Martin Selig Real Estate in Belltown and Ballard. Brewer has been with Lewis since 2014 and is studying for a construction management certificate at the University of Washington.

The Inland Northwest Associated General Contractors elected Dan Kuney as 2018 board president. Kuney has served on the board since 2011 and his company, Max J. Kuney Co., has been an AGC member since 1930. Other officers for 2018 are John Madden of Inland Asphalt Co., first vice president; Hollis Barnett of Garco Construction, second vice president; and Judy Rapp of PayneWest Financial Group, treasurer. Rich Wells of Ginno Construction is a new board member.

In Spokane, Bouten Construction Co. hired Christian McCuen as project engineer. McCuen previously worked at Sellen Construction in Seattle, and as an intern and project engineer at Granite Construction Co. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington.
Stoneway Concrete plants in Seattle and Renton have been certified under the National Ready Mix Concrete Association's Green-Star Program. Stoneway says the plants are the first in the Pacific Northwest to earn that certification.
