Mike Barrett, Matt Winkler and James Vincent have joined SDL McCarthy. Barrett and Winkler are project managers and Vincent is a superintendent. Vincent has over 18 years of construction experience and Barrett has over six years. All three are working out of the company's Portland office.
The National Association of Women in Construction has awarded $500 scholarships to Tina Lovell and Robin Willems. Lovell is a student in the ANEW program at Renton Technical College and Willems is in the Carpentry Tech program at Green River Community College. In addition to the monetary awards, a membership scholarship was given to Debbie Page, a student in the University of Washington's Construction Management program.
After 25 years of business on Bainbridge Island, Drury Construction Co. Inc. has relocated to Poulsbo. The new location is larger and accommodates an enlarged estimating and project management staff. It also includes a special area for subcontractors and material suppliers to review drawings and specifications. Bruce D. Holms has been promoted to vice president of operations and George Golub has been hired as a superintendent at SDL McCarthy in Bellevue. Holms has 25 years of construction experience and has worked for SDL for the past 10 years. Golub brings over 21 years of experience to his new position in the company's Beaverton, Ore., office.
Seattle's Lease Crutcher Lewis has added three new employees and promoted an existing worker. Reid Bullock has been promoted from project engineer to project manager. New employees include Ted Haskell in the accounting department and project engineers John Baginley and Shari Leaming.
In an effort to get closer to many of its Puget Sound area operations, and to consolidate employees and resources, Wilder Construction Co. has moved its headquarters from Bellingham to Everett. The move also puts Wilder closer to Sea-Tac Airport for flights to Alaska, where the company does about half of its business. Wilder Environmental, a division of Wilder Construction, has also moved to Everett from Bellevue. The company's Whatcom County Branch, equipment facility, repair shop and gravel operations will continue doing business in Bellingham. The new address for Wilder is: 1525 E. Three members of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties have been honored by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development for their commitment to affordable housing. They are: Don Dally of Dally Homes, Seattle; Zakir Parpia of Himalaya Homes, Everett; and Larry Sundquist of Sundquist Homes, Lynnwood.
