The Puget Sound chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction has appointed its chapter officers and directors for 2003-04. Officers include: Lily Iftner of DBM Investigative Engineers, president; Jill Blegen of Performance Contracting, vice president; Mary Kauth of Kvichak Marine Industries, treasurer; and Tammy Vibbert of Lakeside Industries, secretary. Gwyn Hart of Cadman is immediate past president. Directors include: Jane Mills of Golder Associates, Kim Anderson of AAR Testing Laboratories and Judy Jewell of Olympian Precast.

Fortis Construction

Three former members of DPR Construction have formed their own company in Portland called Fortis Construction. The trio includes David Aaroe, Jim Kilpatrick and Rene Gonzalez. Aaroe headed up DPR's Seattle operation and Kilpatrick and Gonzalez were in charge of the Portland office until the California-based company closed the two outlets along with three others across the country.

Rushforth Construction

Joel Rohrs has joined Tacoma's Rushforth Construction as a project manager. Rohrs has 12 years of industry experience, and holds a bachelor's degree in urban design and planning from the University of Washington. He is working on the Salem Conference Center and parking structure and Phoenix Inn Grand Hotel in Salem, Ore.

FMI Corp.

Construction management consultant FMI Corp. has appointed Hank M. Harris president and managing director. Harris replaced Hugh L. Rice, who is continuing as chairman and a senior member of FMI’s investment banking business. Other leadership changes at FMI include: John L. Hughes Jr. in the newly created position of vice president and corporate operations director; Ron M. Magnus as managing director of the consulting group; and Kevin J. Mitchell as managing director of investment banking.
