The state Department of Labor and Industries has won a regional award for its Web site from the Society for Technical Communication. L&I and the state's Web portal, Access Washington, won the distinguished technical communication award in the technical marketing category. The agency in May will compete in the international awards, which will be held in Seattle.

PSI's Portland office has hired Bryan White as business development manager and promoted Jay Hathaway from senior materials engineer to department manager. White holds a bachelor's degree in arts management from Northern Arizona University. Hathaway, a professional engineer, is overseeing operations in Portland and performing engineering tasks. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction engineering technology from Montana State University.
The Associated General Contractors of Washington has installed its new officers and board of trustees for 2005. The officers include: Brett Ferullo of Northwest Construction, president; Gus Gottschalk of Lydig Construction, first vice president: David D'Hondt of Absher Construction, second vice president; and Wendy Pare of Nuprecon, secretary/treasurer. Trustees include: Wilf Wainhouse of Sellen Construction, Pat McGarry of Manson Construction, Rusty Laird of Com-Steel, Steve Barger of Northwest Cascade, Bill Kloster of MSI Construction, Kelly Bosa of KLB Construction, Ed Brooks of Sunset Pacific General Contractors, Pamm Jardine of Kibble & Prentice, Ruby Jones of Turner Construction, Paul Koshiyama of BMWC Constructors, Kelly Martin of Schultz Miller, Mike Myette of Tri State Construction, Douglas R. Roach of Groff Murphy Trachtenberg & Everard, and John Schaufelberger of the University of Washington.
