Bill Ecker of Wade Perrow Construction in Gig Harbor has passed the Design Build Institute of America Designated Design/Build Professional exam. By passing the exam, Ecker earned the DBIA designation.
The Bellevue office of Swinerton Builders has added Randall Brinkhoff, Ron Montoya, James Casal, Jerry Tueth and Victor Vo. Brinkhoff is chief financial officer. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado. Montoya is a project executive. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado. Casal is a superintendent. Tueth is an assistant superintendent for special projects. Vo is an assistant project manager. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington.
Materials Testing and Consulting has promoted Stephen Barrie to technical director to oversee its recently accredited laboratory in Centralia. Barrie will team with regional manager John Massett and laboratory manager Lonnie Sayler to provide geotechnical engineering, construction inspection and materials testing services.
Central Washington University students recently won first place at the regional Associated Schools of Construction Student Competition. The students are from the school's Construction Management Program. They won the Heavy/Civil Team category. They will compete next in the national competition, March 13-16 in Las Vegas.
Contech Construction Products has opened a sales and materials yard in Tualatin, Ore. The yard is stocked with materials such as corrugated and PVC pipe, geotextiles, geogrids and silt fencing. The company operates over 50 yards across the country.
