Jay Dee Coluccio Taisei and Jay Dee Coluccio won Tunnelling Contractor of the Year at last week’s International Tunnelling Awards 2011 in Hong Kong. The joint ventures built Brightwater’s four-mile West Tunnel and completed the remaining 1.9 miles of Brightwater’s Central Tunnel when another contractor’s machine broke down. The joint ventures also came in second for the Tunnelling Project of the Year (between $100 million and $1 billion) for their work on Brightwater.
