David J. Ponganis was named Programs Director for the Northwestern Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, headquartered in Portland. Ponganis is directing a $3 billion annual program of water resource projects, military construction and environmental restoration activities throughout the Columbia and Missouri river basins. He has 32 years of civil engineering and water resource planning experience in those basins. Prior to joining the corps, he spent two years with the Environmental Protection Agency. The Northwestern Division has local operating districts in Seattle, Walla Walla and Portland.

Frank Imhof, founder and president of Imco General Construction, was named Northwest Business Monthly's 2012 Lifetime Achievement honoree last week at the 26th Annual Whatcom County Business Person of the Year awards dinner.
Seattle-based Veca Electric & Technologies was recognized with the National Supplier of Choice Award by general contractor Skanska. Veca CEO Thomas Fairbanks and President Brian Westerlund accepted the award at a ceremony in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Veca was one of six suppliers chosen nationwide. The company supports training programs to transition veterans' military experience to civilian construction.
The Portland Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association elected new board members: Stacy Lewallen of Lease Crutcher Lewis, president; Patsy Dunn of Talbot, Korvola & Warwick, vice-president; Jason Hall of Hoffman, Stewart & Schmidt, treasurer; Danica J. Markus of PermaCold Engineering, secretary/recorder; and Ann Martin of Sage Business Solutions, past president. New directors are Alisa Castellano of R&H Construction, Darrell L. Robinson of Zavala Corp., Michael D. Sause of AKT LLP, Ronald L. Belnap of Elting Northwest, and Gary McCann of Woodruff & Sawyer Co.

Seattle-based general contractor Schuchart hired Jeff Tobin as manager of its new Tenant Improvement Division. Tobin has nearly 20 years of experience in commercial construction, ranging from hands-on work to facilities management to project management. He holds a bachelor's degree from Central Washington University and a certification in construction/facilities management from the University of Washington.

Steve Johnson joined OAC Services as senior program manager in the Seattle office. Johnson has 31 years of industry experience working in the Puget Sound area. He has been an owner, construction manager, development manager, consultant, general contractor and subcontractor. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Washington State University.
Portland-based StormwateRx added three staff to help expand its North American operations: Lanz Fritz as chief operating officer, Larry Ostry as manager for the Midwest region and Raymond Lindeen as manager for the South Central region. Fritz brings more than 10 years of executive-level experience in the stormwater industry and is a licensed CPA. Ostry is based outside of Chicago and Lindeen is based in Houston. StormwateRx is a provider of industrial stormwater treatment and filtration systems.
Wayne's Roofing of Sumner won the Centurion Award from Carlisle Syntec, a manufacturer and supplier of single-ply roofing systems and products. The award is based upon completed roofing system inspections performed by Carlisle technical representatives who rate each project on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being a flawless application. Wayne's attained more than 100 perfect ratings.
