Skanska USA Civil's Northwest Division promoted Trent Irick to Northwest Operations Manager. In his new role, Irick is leading all projects from the Seattle office. He has more than 17 years of experience working with highway, railroad and marine projects, as well as experience with design-build delivery. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction engineering technology from Montana State University.


Hank Jacky and Max Jones joined Kirtley-Cole Associates in Everett as project managers. Jacky has 16 years of construction industry experience, and was previously with CDK Construction and Foushee & Associates. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Washington State University. Jones has 22 years of experience and was previously with SD Deacon. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction engineering from Purdue University.

Cochran Inc. promoted Mike Thomas to chief operating officer. Thomas has been with the company for nearly 16 years, holding such positions as estimator, project manager, chief estimator and technologies COO. In his new role, he is working to streamline processes and achieve the company's “one team” approach.

Nick Terrile, formerly of Unimark Construction Group, joined Gateway Construction Services as senior project manager. At Unimark, Terrile managed a variety of tenant-improvement projects ranging from $100,000 to $3.4 million. He has 15 years of construction experience, is a LEED Accredited Professional and holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Central Washington University.
Goldfinch Bros. of Everett hired Jeff Wilson as estimator and project manager in its Commercial Division. Wilson is responsible for estimating, project management and customer service for tenant-improvement projects. He has nearly 30 years of experience, beginning his career with Lindal Building Products and later spending five years at Insulate Industries. He most recently spent 16 years at SGS Glass Co., where he oversaw estimating, scheduling, crews and company workload.
Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers is buying AssetNation, an online marketplace for surplus and salvage assets, from New York City-based Spire Capital Partners. The deal is valued at $64 million. Ritchie Bros. intends to leverage AssetNation's e-commerce expertise and technology platform to develop new services for equipment owners whose buying and selling preferences may not be met by Ritchie's live auctions. AssetNation is headquartered in Houston. Ritchie is based in Vancouver, B.C.

Tacoma-based Rushforth Construction appointed Marc Streleski director of business development. Streleski on June 1 will take over for Don Lloyd, who is retiring after 19 years at the company. Streleski, a project manager, has been with the company for 10 years. Prior to joining Rushforth, he worked in real estate development, overseeing construction of senior housing, multifamily, health-care and church projects. Lloyd has spent more than 30 years in the construction industry.

Omega Morgan, a heavy-equipment transport company based in Portland, named John McCalla CEO and president. McCalla comes from Warn Industries, also in Portland, where he held the top executive leadership position. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University.
Portland-based Coaxis, parent company of Viewpoint Construction Software, acquired Construction Imaging Systems. A press release said it was a strategic move to enhance the value of Viewpoint's software portfolio. Details of the deal were not released. Viewpoint added 46 employees this year and may hire more to handle anticipated growth.
Joshua D. Bean from Klebs Mechanical in Anchorage, Alaska, won a gold award in plumbing at the 2012 National Craft Championships competition held recently in San Antonio by the Associated Builders and Contractors. A field of 127 craft trainees competed for top honors in 12 competitions representing 10 crafts. Bean's training sponsor was the ABC Alaska Chapter.
