St. Charles Health System has opened a new cancer care center in Bend, Oregon.
The 16,000-square-foot, two-story St. Charles Bend Cancer Center brings together medical and radiation oncology treatment teams. It is the latest addition to St. Charles Medical Center, and is the only comprehensive cancer center in the region.
Construction cost $10 million.
The design uses warm wood tones, a soothing color palette and art that depicts the natural scenery. The exterior is clad in sustainable, wood-like materials that blend with the landscape. There is a healing garden and reflecting pool.
A second-floor infusion clinic has an open floor plan and high ceilings, with an outdoor deck that overlooks the garden.
Corridors have floor-to-ceiling windows, and exam rooms have translucent panels to bring in natural light.
