Coaching is a noble profession, but not all coaches are cast in the same mold.
Some coaches listen, encourage, ask questions and allow the client to develop the options. The premise is: answers best come from the client, not from the coach. These pure coaches use the Socratic method -- asking questions, and with skilled prompting, eliciting answers. This is an excellent process for clients who can visualize or create options, needing simply to be prompted to move forward.
