Life seems to revolve around waiting.
As little children, we wait to get bigger: "I'm almost four and a half." And the desire to be an adult starts early on: "I want to be a doctor when I grow up." As young teens, we are anxious to drive: "Can I steer the car?" And teens rush to be treated as equal to their parents: "Why can't I choose my own friends?"
