Sure, it was a Saturday in August in the most vibrant sector of downtown Philadelphia. That would help to explain the scene. But I couldn't get over it: people of every description on nearly every square yard of Rittenhouse Square.
Take away the people, and this would be not too different from any older city park. Huge shade trees, classic walkways and seating, and lots of grass.
