AIA Project of the Month: Lee Center for the Arts: a building hard at work

The Lee Center for the Arts faces busy 12th Avenue with modernist panache. At night, the corner entrance becomes a beacon on 12th.

Spaced along the top of the one-story curtainwall of The Lee Center for the Arts are the letters O-P-E-N. It’s the perfect one-word statement for the multi-use theater and gallery built by Seattle University on busy 12th Avenue.
