This is the second seismic upgrade to the bridge: In 2005 workers replaced expansion joints and added bearings.

Construction crews added concrete and steel to strengthen the Aurora Bridge. Work is scheduled to finish in mid-November.

Work is just about finished on a $5.7 million seismic retrofit of Seattle's Aurora Bridge.
