Q&A: What's new in bridge design?

    In the last 20 years LMN Architects has designed eight pedestrian bridges, including the Tukwila Urban Center Bridge, University District Gateway Bridge near downtown Spokane, and Everett Grand Avenue Pedestrian Bridge in Everett, which is under construction.

    The Seattle-based firm also did the original plans for a bridge over Interstate 5 that will connect North Seattle College with the future Northgate light rail station in Seattle. The design was changed to save money and VIA Architecture is now the designer.
