The Harrison Medical Center expansion in Silverdale will add a hospital, medical office building and parking garage.

A $500 million, 500,000-square-foot expansion of CHI Franciscan Harrison Medical Center underway at 1800 Northwest Myhre Road in Silverdale is slated for completion in late 2020.

The project will add a 240-bed hospital, a medical office building and a parking garage.

CHI Franciscan said it will be the most energy-efficient hospital in Washington. It will have 144 new acute care beds, 13 new procedural rooms, a 56-bay emergency services department, a birth center, surgical services and heart, stroke and orthopedic care.

The project will include a healing garden, and Clear Creek Trail will run through the hospital grounds.

NBBJ is the architect. The general contractor is Howard S. Wright, a Balfour Beatty company.

Also, CHI Franciscan expects to open in May a 26,000-square-foot primary care clinic at 4207 Kitsap Way in west Bremerton. The Bremerton Family Medicine Clinic will provide outpatient services, including pediatric, geriatric, obstetrics, mental health, sports health and addiction treatment, though physicians and providers will refer patients to outside specialists. It will house the CHI Franciscan Northwest Family Medicine Residency Program for new doctors, which is made up of 24 resident doctors and 10 instructors.

ZGF Architects is the architect and Sellen Construction is the general contractor.

A spokesperson for CHI Franciscan said the clinic, coupled with the Silverdale expansion, will allow it to close the Harrison Bremerton campus in 2023.
