Construction Industry Spotlight: Driving piles without earplugs

    Hart Crowser's Doug Lindquist oversaw earthwork for the Silver Cloud hotel next to Safeco Field. Pressed in piles were used, behind the rebar, to shore up the site for underground parking.

    LOCAL CONSTRUCTION folks are talking about the latest Japanese import. But this is no Honda or Toyota, it's a machine that silently presses sheet piles into the ground, without shaking your teeth out.
