Steel beams go green

  • Local engineer invents foam-filled steel beam as an insulating alternative to wood, steel and glu-lam headers.

    About 300 Enviro-Beams of different lengths were used at the Kent Station project. The beams were used as headers, up to 22 feet long.

    DUANE DEN ADEL said he sees no limit to the potential for Enviro-Beam. "As soon as word gets out, it should be used in all projects," said Den Adel.
