County weighs in on South Park bridge's fate

  • The aging bridge could be closed if no major funding is in place by the end of 2008.

    Replacing the South Park bridge with another bascule bridge would cost $150 million in 2010 dollars.

    THE ONLY STRUCTURE of its kind in Washington state, the historic South Park bridge will be torn down in 2010 unless someone comes up with the money to fix it.
