Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett has opened the new Marshall and Katherine Cymbaluk Medical Tower.
The $460 million tower is a 12-story, 713,644-square-foot facility, with 368 new beds, an intensive care unit, cardiac surgery single-stay unit, six dialysis stations and patient rooms for general medical or post-surgical needs.
One floor will be the emergency department, with 79 private treatment rooms, an area for less acute patients, four trauma rooms, and CT and diagnostic radiology services. Patient rooms are larger than standard to accommodate visitors.
The diagnostic imaging floor has six imaging suites with technology for CT, MRI, radiography, diagnostic and vascular ultrasound, nuclear medicine and non-invasive cardiology services.
Two floors will be used for surgical and interventional procedures. At 700 square feet, the operating rooms are 300 square feet larger than average.
The tower is the latest of several projects built for Providence over the past several years, and is the largest expansion in its 100-year history.
