Bar Harbor is located in 400 Fairview in South Lake Union. The wine, craft beer and spirits bar also serves food inspired by the Atlantic Northeast.
The overall concept is to bring the Atlantic Northeast to the Pacific Northwest. Natural wood, hand painted elements and nautical details recall a Maine lobster shack reinterpreted for a contemporary Northwest context.
The layout includes an open kitchen and full bar, and it faces into 400 Fairview's large communal hall. Bar Harbor also has a satellite space at the south end of the hall for serving drink and food to the back deck.
Ben Hodgetts, the owner of Bar Harbor, personally applied many of the finishes, such as painting shingles and the bar front, describing his work as a "labor of love."
