Local Tide

Local Tide is a new seafood restaurant owned by Victor Steinbrueck in Fremont’s new Cedar Speedster Building at 401 N. 36th St.

The design aims to be thoughtful but uncomplicated, making use of simple, sharp forms and elemental materials drawn from local sources: wood, steel and glass.

Bright display fridges show off fresh ingredients. A window to Aslan Brewing next door lets light — and flavors — pass back and forth.

A large table and timber bench at the front window creates a gathering place, while a small number of tables along the eastern wall provide more opportunity to stay awhile.

After starting as a Pike Place Market pop-up, Local Tide is now opening its doors in Fremont. Steinbrueck said in a statement that the goal is to “highlight seafood from our region in an approachable and thoughtful way.”
