Saint Ignatius Hall

Designed by Mahlum Architects, Saint Ignatius Hall on the campus of Seattle Preparatory School in Seattle includes a new 20,000-square-foot academic building and a 220-stall underground parking garage.

Expanding the school on a constrained site and in a densely populated area were some of the project's challenges. The school, located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, now includes a new campus green that was developed on the lid of the below-grade parking structure. The green allows for more efficient circulation through the campus and unites its new and older elements. After school hours, it is used by residents in the surrounding community.

The general contractor for this $5.6 million project was Gall Landau Young Construction. The consultants include structural engineer Martens/Chan, electrical engineer Sparling, civil engineer KPFF, mechanical engineer Holaday Parks, geotechnical engineer GeoEngineers, acoustical engineer Michael R. Yantis and landscape architect Murase Associates.
