KENT -- The Imperial Garden Seafood Restaurant the Great Wall Mall will host a Ginseng and Medicinal Mushroom dinner Dec. 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. The 11-course dinner will feature Chinese cuisine of the Northwest combined with fresh ginseng and organic shiitake, maitake and blue oyster mushrooms grown by mycologist Paul Stamets of Fungi Perfecti. All mushrooms in the dinner are renowned for their culinary and health promoting qualities. The menu includes shrimp balls with shiitake mushrooms, sauteed prawns, scallops and blue oyster mushrooms, and shark's fin soup with maitake mushrooms. It will be served with sparkling wine with ginseng and Golden Ale with ginseng.
The evening will include a lecture by Dr. Georges Halpern, an internist and immunologist, on "Combing Pleasure with Health."
