After Hours: Money saving tips for cruisers
NEW YORK (AP) — Summer and fall cruises are filling up fast, but don't overlook spring trips and other ways to save money.
Some seasonal bargains can be had last-minute. For instance, some Carnival cruises in April and May are 30 percent lower than summer and fall cruise rates. A three-day voyage on Carnival's Fantasy from Port Canaveral, Fla., to Nassau is $299 in April compared to $409 in June. A five-day trip on the Imagination from Miami to Grand Cayman/Ocho Rios is $429 in April compared to $729 in June. A seven-day cruise aboard the Victory from Miami to San Juan, St. Maarten and St. Thomas is $599 in April compared to $849 in June.
