EVERETT — On Saturday Oct. 20, at 1 p.m. the Adopt A Stream Foundation and Snohomish County Parks present “Killer Whale Tales” at the Northwest Stream Center in Everett's McCollum Park, 600 128th St. S.E.

“Killer Whale Tales” was created by Jeff Hogan, a biologist, photographer and actor who has been conducting research on San Juan killer whales for 18 years. He uses photos and underwater videos to teach people about killer whales and what people can do to help them. You'll even get a whale's eye view of what it is like to swim with the San Juan pod thanks to Hogan's dorsal fin cam.

After attending the show, you'll know how to tell if a whale is traveling, hunting, playing or sleeping. It turns out that killer whales can put half their brain into slumber mode and “sleep” while they swim.

The center's trout stream exhibit and nature trail will also be open.

Reservations are required. Call (425) 316-8592 or go to http://www.streamkeeper.org.
