Panopto

Morrison

Panopto, a video management system provider in the enterprise and higher education markets, announced that Bobby Morrison has joined its board of directors. Morrison is chief revenue and sales officer of Intuit, where he is accountable for global business development, partner channels, learning and development, sales operations, global demand center, and sales across all Intuit products and services. He is currently on the advisory boards of Subsplash and Saviynt. With over 25 years of cross-functional, operational, and commercial go-to-market experience, Morrison also served as the worldwide VP of small, medium and corporate business at Microsoft. Morrison also served as the VP and head of Microsoft's digital transformation. Panopto's video management system is among the largest repositories of expert learning videos in the world. Panopto is headquartered in Seattle, with offices in Pittsburgh, London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney.

Traject

Traject, a suite of digital marketing tools backed by ASG, has acquired Loomly, a brand success platform that empowers marketing teams to manage every aspect of their social media communication. Loomly is the fourth social media company to join the Traject portfolio and ASG's 39th acquisition overall within the past 5 years. Loomly was founded in 2016 by Thibaud and Noémie Clément. The Traject suite includes: reputation and review management software Grade.us and GatherUp, SEO software AuthorityLabs and Traject Data, dashboarding software Cyfe, social media management software Fanbooster, social media visual planner PLANOLY, and their most recent acquisition - Sendible, a social media management software for agencies and brands. Traject is headquartered in Bellevue. ASG, backed by Alpine Investors, is a software business that buys, builds, and operates market-leading vertical SaaS companies.

Glowforge

Glowforge, a Seattle-based company that designs and produces 3D laser printers for home and small business use, announced that Ralph Clark and Sarah Kauss have been appointed to its board of directors. Clark brings more than three decades of corporate, financial, and organizational leadership experience to Glowforge's board. He currently serves as president and chief executive officer of ShotSpotter, a company that develops precision policing solutions, where he led the transformation to a software as a service business model, and oversaw the company's successful 2017 initial public offering. Clark previously served as chief executive officer of GuardianEdge Technologies. Kauss is the founder and executive chairwoman of S'well, a company that is working to rid the world of single-use plastic bottles. Prio to starting S'well, Kauss was an international real estate developer and Certified Public Accountant who provided professional services to public and privately held companies in the technology, consumer products, and media sectors. Clark and Kauss join existing Glowforge directors Maria Klawe, president of Harvey Mudd College, Steve Murray, managing partner at venture capital firm Revolution Ventures, Brad Feld, co-founder of the investment firm Foundry Group, and Dan Shapiro, founder and CEO of Glowforge.

Blake Webber AIA is a new Associate Principal at the firm. Webber joined Rice Fergus Miller in 2019 with over a decade of experience working as a healthcare architect throughout the country. Blake has worked in the healthcare design field as both an owner’s representative and a traditional design consultant. He has worked on a wide range of Rice Fergus Miller’s medical projects including rural clinics, assisted living facilities, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) facilities and renovations within large hospitals. Webber and interior designer Gena Lee now oversee the firm’s healthcare studio. Jason Ritter-Lopaowski LEED AP BD+C has been promoted to Associate Principal. Ritter-Lopaowski is an architect in the firm’s hospitality and fire and emergency services studios and has nearly 15 years of professional experience. At RFM, he has worked on projects including the 7 Cedars Hotel & Casino expansion, various Tulalip Casino & Resort improvements, and is currently working on four different fire stations for Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue. In addition to project work, he has played an active role in firm management and the adoption of new technology and tools. Kimberlyn Caoagas LEED Green Associate has been promoted to Associate. Caoagas is an architectural designer with a passion for fully-integrated architectural and interior design solutions. Outside of the office, she serves as a board member of NOMA NW, a professional organization which advocates for the advancement of equity, diversity, and inclusion in the AEC industry. Susie Parsons NCIDQ has been promoted to Associate. Parsons is an interior designer working in the firm’s senior living and hospitality studios, with over 8 years of experience. Most recently, Susie has worked on improvements at the Panorama senior living community in Lacey, WA, various projects with Emerald Heights in Redmond, and an expansion at the Eliseo senior living community in Tacoma. Kulshan Community Land Trust

Kulshan Community Land Trust (KulshanCLT) has received a $20,000 housing affordability grant from Wells Fargo to support its HomeBuyer Education program. Wells Fargo has been one of KulshanCLT's largest grant funders, according to KulshanCLT executive director Dean Fearing. KulshanCLT holds land in trust for permanently affordable homeownership and other community needs, and by offering financial and educational services to people of limited means. Since the trust began in 1999, it has assisted more than 190 moderate-income households purchase affordable homes in Whatcom County. The HomeBuyer Education program is one of three KulshanCLT core programs—HomeBuyer Education, HomeOwnership Opportunities and HomeOwner Services. Together these programs provide financial education, counseling, foreclosure prevention and expertise to modest-income households. KulshanCLT also offers free pre-purchase counseling to anyone in the community.

Star Surveying

Friday Harbor-based Star Surveying is now a women majority-owned business. Star recently brought on Kimberly Bourns as senior surveyor and co-owner to join longtime owner Robert M. Anderson. Bourns is a Professional Land Surveyor with over 20 years of surveying education and experience. She has worked on local projects such as Sound Transit's Northgate Link Extension and Alderwood Water District's survey control plan that included detailed mapping of over 41 locations throughout the district. Bourns previously was a project surveyor with Pacific Geomatic Services (now part of Parametrix) and prior to that was a senior survey technician with W&H Pacific (now an NV5 company).

ABC of Western Washington

The Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Washington added Tilford & Associates and City Group Solutions as new members. Tacoma-based Tilford is a notary loan signing agent, and provides administrative support to framing, drywall and flagging companies. It is led by Rhonda Tilford. Seattle-based City Group Solutions provides post-construction, commercial and residential cleaning services. It is led by DeChelle Henderson.

Cascade Windows

Dallas-based private equity firm CenterOak Partners LLC completed the sale of Cascade Windows to Cornerstone Building Brands for $245 million in cash. Cascade Windows is based in Spokane Valley. It is an independent manufacturer of single- and double-hung vinyl windows, sliders and patio doors for the residential new construction, repair and remodel markets across the West. Cary, North Carolina-based Cornerstone makes exterior building components, including vinyl siding, windows, metal roofing and wall systems.

Hitachi Construction Machinery

Hitachi Construction Machinery and Deere will dissolve their joint venture on Feb. 28, 2022, after which Hitachi Construction Machinery Loaders America will become the regional headquarters (in Newnan, Georgia) for the Americas for all Hitachi construction machinery products and services. Hitachi says it plans to significantly expand its scope of products and services in the Americas, and strengthen its dealer network. In the Pacific Northwest, its dealers include Columbia Western Machinery in Sherwood, Oregon; and in Idaho, Central Equipment in Pocatello and Jerome, and Shafer Equipment Co. in Boise. Alaska dealerships include Construction Machinery Industrial locations in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau.
