Barghausen Consulting Engineers promoted the following individuals between December 2023 and May 2024.
Anthone Firth was promoted to survey party chief in April. He has worked at Barghausen Consulting Engineers for four years. During his time as a chainperson, he learned a lot from the party chiefs he was assigned to.
Darrin Herman was promoted to senior survey party chief in December of 2023 and has worked for Barghausen for two years. Herman has consistently demonstrated exceptional performance and adaptability in topographic mapping and construction staking.
Giselle D Santamaria was promoted to IT manager/systems engineer in January. She has worked at Barghausen for four years. Santamaria is highly skilled in handling various responsibilities such as overseeing staff, managing IT budgets, and designing systems for workflow efficiency.
Jason McArdel was promoted to senior civil project manager in December of 2023. He has worked at Barghausen for six years. McArdel has built strong relationships with stakeholders and prioritizes training and mentoring newer engineers, encouraging the team-first approach at Barghausen.
Michael Lesmeister was promoted to senior civil project manager in January. He has worked at Barghausen for over a year. Lesmeister has become an integral part of the Barghausen team, learning internal processes, managing a team of design engineers, and contributing to commercial site programs.
Mitch Anderson was promoted to job captain in January and has worked at Barghausen for two years. He provides support and initiative across multiple departments.
Monika Uehlin was promoted to senior project architect in January. She has worked at Barghausen for three years. Uehlin handles impressive workloads with ease. Additionally, her NCARB certification allows Barghausen to expand its market reach and position.
Sabrina Rushing was promoted to project coordinator in May after working for Barghausen for nine months. Rushing joined Barghausen in 2023 and moved to one of the firm's commercial multi-site planning teams.
Sierra Baker was promoted to project coordinator in May. She has worked for Barghausen for three years. Baker is a trusted resource for the engineering team, enhancing productivity.
Josh DeFonzo was promoted to survey party chief in May. He was shortly promoted after starting in April and has been on the team for about two months. DeFonzo is a third generation land surveyor and joined the team with expertise in equipment operation and fieldwork.

Marriott International awarded Michael Roussel, assistant general manager, Mereté Hotel Management's Residence Inn, Eugene, the Operations Manager of the Year Award for the Residence Inn brand. This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to guest satisfaction, outstanding service, and a dedication to upholding the highest standards of hospitality. Dr. Rachel Solemsaas, who had been serving in an interim president capacity since September 2023, was named permanent president at North Seattle College, effective July 1. The announcement coincided with the naming of Dr. Bradley Lane and Dr. Monica Brown as permanent presidents of Seattle Central College and South Seattle College, respectively. Those colleges, along with North Seattle College, comprise the Seattle Colleges district, the largest community college system in the State of Washington. Previously, Solemsaas served seven years as chancellor of Hawai'i Community College in the University of Hawaii system. Established in 1970, North Seattle College provides learning opportunities for more than 10,000 students each year. North also offers six bachelor's degrees: Accounting with an International focus, Application Development, Computer Science, Early Childhood Education, International Business, and Residential and Commercial Property Management.

Frazier Healthcare Partners, a private equity firm focused exclusively on the healthcare industry, added three experienced professionals to its Center of Excellence: Sanji Fernando, partner, data & artificial intelligence; Steve Blackhart, vice president, corporate development; and Lindsey Murphy, director, sales operations. Frazier continues to focus on the strategic expansion of its dedicated Center of Excellence, providing Fortune 500 talent to portfolio companies in the areas of human capital, technology & innovation, data analytics & AI, M&A & corporate development, finance, operations, legal, commercial excellence, and ESG. Fernando was previously SVP of AI products and platforms at Optum. He launched United AI Studio, a unified platform enabling rapid experimentation and deployment of advanced Machine Learning across UHC and Optum, and was key in positioning UnitedHealth to the forefront of healthcare's digital transformation. Blackhart is an M&A professional with extensive transaction experience on both the buy-side and sell-side. He joins Frazier from Black Eagle Advisors, an M&A advisory firm he founded in 2015. Most recently, he led corporate development for MiX Telematics. He began his career in the investment banking division of Bank of America Merrill Lynch before becoming a private equity professional at FFL Partners. Murphy has over 12 years of experience in sales operations, and in her role at Frazier, she will support its portfolio companies with sales operations, including improving sales processes, tools, and pipeline management. Previously, she was the director of sales operations at Parata, a Frazier portfolio company. Founded in 1991, Frazier is headquartered in Seattle, and invests broadly across the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
Bellevue-based T-Mobile was chosen as a wireless solutions provider by the U.S. Department of the Navy as part of the $2.67 billion Spiral 4 contract. This new contract will give all Department of Defense agencies the ability to place orders for wireless services and equipment from T-Mobile for the next ten years. The comprehensive, multiple-award contract includes voice, data, fixed wireless solutions, Internet of Things and mobility management solutions. This new contract replaces the previous iteration, Spiral 3, in response to changes in industry standards and technological advancements. Since participating in Spiral 3 starting in 2017, T-Mobile has grown its range of services for government operations. It launched 5G Advanced Network Solutions, a comprehensive portfolio of 5G solutions and applications — like 5G private and hybrid networks — that meet specific performance needs of government agencies. T-Mobile also introduced Government Internet, a 5G fixed wireless solution that can function as the main internet connection or as unlimited backup, enhancing reliability and support for critical communications.

Alston Construction promoted Lonny Arneson to senior superintendent for the Tacoma office. Arneson has worked in the construction industry for more than three decades. His past role as a superintendent has given him experience across various construction types including industrial, commercial, medical and multifamily. In his new role, Arneson will lead projects with a focus on the pre-construction phase, providing guidance on the constructibility of systems and input on scheduling and improving efficiencies. He will be responsible for aiding management in mentoring, growth initiatives, and training of other superintendents. Alston Construction is a general contractor and has been building since 1986. Its projects include industrial buildings, distribution centers, offices retail stores and showrooms.

WiSA Technologies, a provider of wireless audio technology for intelligent devices and home entertainment systems, has appointed Kimberly Briskey to the board of directors. Briskey has more than 15 years of experience in strategic business and financial operations and is the Brand CFO of Eddie Bauer at SPARC Group. She has expertise in financial planning, long-range budgeting, and operational oversight. Previously, she served as senior director of DTC finance and company planning at SPARC Group. Her experience includes senior roles at Lucky Brand, Beyond Yoga, J Brand, and GUESS?. Briskey holds a Bachelor of Science in Global Business and Marketing from Arizona State University and a Professional Designation in Product Development from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. The company also announced that Lisa Cummins has resigned as a director. WiSA Technologies is headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, with sales teams in Taiwan, China, Japan, Korea, and California.
Beacon has opened two new locations in Washington. The branches in Everett and Spokane are geared to support specialty waterproofing contractors, and will offer a full catalog of waterproofing, glass and glazing products. Founded in 1928, Beacon is a specialty distributor of building products, including roofing materials and complementary products, such as siding and waterproofing. The company operates over 560 branches throughout all 50 states in the U.S. and 7 provinces in Canada.
