The M/V Alaskan Explorer, a 100-foot by 23-foot fiberglass vessel built by Westport Shipyard Inc. is now in service with Kenai Fjords Tours. With a top service speed of 28 knots, the boat can carry 149 passengers and is powered by two 1750-hp 3512 DITA Caterpiller engines. Kenai Fjords Tours, a 20-year-old company, operates three Westport-built vessel among its fleet of six boats.
Cynthia Curreri has joined Gov. Mike Lowry's staff as deputy staff director. Curreri served as city manager of Ellensburg since 1992 and has worked in local government for 20 years, including four years as deputy mayor of Seattle. Also, Jordan Dey has been named permanent communications director.
Maverick Ideas in Advertising has announced the opening of a new offices in the Factoria area of Bellevue. The Bellevue-based company specializes in the advertising and marketing of real estate, mortgage and escrow companies and their agents in the Puget Sound.
Lynnwood's Prime Pacific Bank, which opened its doors to the public on May 22, has scheduled a grand opening celebration during the week of June 5. The 9,600-square-foot bank is located at 4710 196th St. S.W. Prime Pacific's board of directors include: Gary Hopper, president and chief executive officer; Richard Uhl, vice president and chief financial officer; and Steve Ryan, vice president and chief credit officer. Uhl was formerly the chief financial officer of The Bank of Grays Harbor. Ryan comes from Kittitas Valley Bank of Ellensburg where he served as chief credit officer.

Bay West Group, a San Francisco-based design center ownership and management group, has hired Lynda Coile as property manager of Seattle Design Center and Seattle Gift Center. Both facilities are managed by Seattle Market Center for Bay West Group. Previously, Coile worked with Polygon Management Inc., Kirkland; Koll Management Services, Bellevue; and The Sammis Company, Seattle.
Cindi Nestegard has been named sales manager for Stewarts Jewelers in Kent. Nestegard has more than 14 years of experience in the jewelry business. Formerly, she held management positions with Fred Meyer in Kent, Tacoma, Spokane, and Idaho.
Seattle's Stevenson Slavin Advertising and Public Relations Inc. has promoted Kim McClure from senior account executive to vice president of account services. She is responsible for overseeing account activity within Stevenson Slavin and managing special projects with the company's affiliate, Piranha Productions Inc. McClure started at the former Slavin Communications in 1988. She has also coordinated numerous trade shows for the travel and automotive industries.
Key Bank has opened a new branch in Federal Way, at 1918 S.W. Campus Drive. The Twin Lakes office, managed by assistant vice president Gregory H. Wick, replaces the bank's Northeast Tacoma branch.
The Norman Company has named Valarie Tomey as the new general manager of the Columbia Seafirst Center, Seattle's largest office building. Tomey is responsible for managing the 76-story building, including all tenant relations, marketing, personnel, building maintenance, financial management and tenant improvements.
Bruce Peart has joined CB Commercial Real Estate Group as a vice president, specializing in the sale of investment properties in the Puget Sound area. Prior to joining CB Commercial, Peart was employed by Grubb & Ellis Commercial Real Estate as an investment property specialist.
RE/MAX Pacific Northwest Inc. has named Phil Van Eynde, sales associate with RE/MAX Eastside Brokers, one of the April 1995 top ten sales associates for the Pacific Northwest Region. Also RE/MAX Real Estate offices across the Northwest, in the last year have contributed over $60,000 to Children's Miracle Network hospitals in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.

Gregory Laycock of Grubb & Ellis' Seattle investment properties division has been named the exclusive sales agent for Overlake Christian Church, located on 132nd avenue Northeast in Kirkland. The 111,812- square-foot church facility and sits on 14.9 acres.
