Base-Line

Base-Line Inc., an Auburn-based graphic arts products manufacturer, has named David A. Sorter director of marketing. Sorter will be responsible for all marketing activities including new product development. Sorter formerly served as business manager for Polaroid Graphics Imaging.

Canyon Creek Cabinet

Canyon Creek Cabinet Co. has named Kent Boyer senior vice president of operations. Boyer formerly served as general manager for LaFata Cabinets in Michigan. Canyon Creek, based in Portland, currently employs 350 people at a new facility in Monroe.

Wall Data

Wall Data Inc., Kirkland, has appointed Rick Fox vice president finance, chief financial officer and treasurer. Fox will be responsible for overseeing the company's global financial operations, investor relations and MIS functions. Fox formerly worked for Ernst & Young in Seattle. Barry Horn, formerly vice president of North American sales, has been promoted to vice president of worldwide sales. Jim Robb has rejoined Wall Data as vice president of North American sales. Robb was most recently vice president of sales for DataChannel, Inc.

Graham & Dunn

Michael Tobiason has joined the Seattle law firm of Graham & Dunn as a shareholder and member of the corporate practice group. Tobiason will continue his practice in general corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, international business transactions and intellectual property licensing. Tobiason formerly worked for Price Waterhouse in public accounting.

R.A. Kevane & Associates

R.A. Kevane & Associates, a career consulting firm, will once again have an office in downtown Seattle. The office is located at Suite 308, 810 Third Ave., Seattle. Raymond A. Kevane is a speaker and the author of "Employment Power: Take Control of your Career."

SIOR awards

At its ninth annual awards luncheon on March 5, the Washington chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors named the recipients of awards for outstanding performance or projects during the year. Tim O'Keefe, of Colliers International (and previously CB Commercial), was named office broker of the year. Paul Jerue, of The Broderick Group (and previously CB Commercial), was named industrial broker of the year. The office development of the year was 1000 Dexter in Seattle. Developed by Alper Northwest, the project was designed by Callison Architecture and built by SDL McCarthy. Industrial development of the year was the U.S. Postal Service Center in Tukwila. Developed and built by Sabey Corp., the project was designed by Sabey architects and The Schemmer Associates.

Trammell Crow

Joe Baldwin has joined Trammell Crow Co. after six years with Leibsohn & Co. as a senior associate broker in commercial real estate.

Lynnwood Mortgage

Troy Fuller and Kim Newton have joined Lynnwood Mortgage Corp. as loan officers in the Everett branch. Fuller previously worked 11 years at Gresham Transfer. Newton formerly worked as a head teller at US Bank.

Legacy Management Group

Jerry Youngblood has been named president of Legacy Management Group, Inc. The firm manages 22 senior-living properties in Washington and Arizona. Youngblood previously worked at Alternative Living Services.

Aegis Assisted Living

Sue Farrow has joined Aegis Assisted Living as vice president of operations. Farrow previously served as senior vice president at Sunrise Assisted Living. Vera Taylor has been hired as vice president of corporate communications. Taylor was national marketing director for Hillhaven. Aegis is based in Redmond. The company plans to build 20 to 25 assisted-living communities in the western United States over the next five years.

Pinnacle Realty Management

Rick Graf has been named president of Pinnacle Realty Management's central market region, with oversight responsibilities in the Midwest and South Central parts of the U.S. Pinnacle manages more than 21,000 multifamily units and 2.5 million square feet of commercial property in that territory. Graf previously served as Pinnacle's president of the South Central region alone. The company manages an international portfolio of apartment, office, industrial and retail properties valued at more than $4.3 billion.

Weyerhaeuser Real Estate

Laurie Ford has joined Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Co. as vice president of master planned community sales and marketing. Those communities include Northwest Landing, Snoqualmie Ridge and Northridge. Ford previously was president of Ford Revelations, a consulting company for land developers and home builders.

Merrill Gardens

Three newcomers have been named to the Merrill Gardens board of directors. Will Ketcham, Chris Marker and Jim Treadway are the first board members who are not part of the Merrill family. They join Charles Wright, Bagley Wright, Cordy Wagner and president Bill Pettit. Treadway is CEO and manager of Seattle-based MTM management, which provides management to small, luxury independent hotels. Ketcham is the deputy director of the New York/New Jersey High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, a multijurisdictional law enforcement task force that targets drug trafficking and money laundering. Marker is active in several not-for-profit organizations after working 20 years with Westin Hotels and seven years as president of The Hillhaven Corp.

Windermere

Seattle-area offices of Windermere Real Estate have added new sales agents. Mark T. Hanses has joined the Eastlake office after working for the Landmark Group. Chris McCain is new in the Kent office. He has more than 12 years' experience in the industry, most recently with Prudential Real Estate. Eva Brandenburg has joined the Queen Anne office. She previously worked at John L. Scott Real Estate in Laurelhurst. And Joni Draper has joined the Port Orchard office. Also at Windermere, Karen McKnight, of the Bellevue East office, has earned an Accredited Buyer Representative desingation from the Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council of the National Association of Realtors.

CarrAmerica

CarrAmerica Realty Corp. announced its purchase of a 30-acre building site in suburban Portland for development of an office park. The project will be called Sunset Corporate Park. The property is in the Sunset Corridor area, at 229th Avenue and Evergreen Parkway. It will support development of eight two-story buildings totaling 444,000 square feet. Office or high-tech users are the expected tenants.
