Harper Bond

Harper Bond, Inc., a full-service real estate firm in Bellevue, will become agent-owned on April 1. Company president and CEO Bill Fredrickson currently owns 100 percent of Harper Bond stock, and he will retain a majority share. But the balance will be offered to Harper Bond agents who meet a minimum production standard. According to Mike Bradley, Harper Bond vice president and Commercial Division manager, the change was inspired by the industry trend for top-producing brokers to leave large firms and form smaller ones on their own. At Harper Bond, offering ownership without the risks inherent in starting new companies was seen as a way to retain and attract high quality agents. Fredrickson said the change was announced to the brokers at the company's annual awards breakfast in January, where it was greeted with "unbelievable" excitement. The idea was so popular, in fact, that the minimum production standard had to be raised immediately to ensure the availability of stock for the company's top producers. Harper Bond provides services to Puget Sound clients in residential resale and new-construction sales and marketing; commercial, industrial and investment sales and leasing; and property management.
