Wayne Cox has been hired as director of business development for the Northwest group of Ford Graphics companies, including the operations in Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, Tigard and Bellevue. Cox will be developing a software program to track and bill jobs.
Jackie Zils has joined the client service team at JayRay Ads & P.R. as an account executive. Zils formerly worked at Regence BlueShield. JayRay has offices in Seattle and Tacoma.
George W. Martin, Jr., a partner with the Seattle law firm Hillis, Clark, Martin & Peterson, was elected to the Commercial Law Affiliates' board of directors. The association is the world's largest affiliation of independent business and commercial law firms.
Phoenix Savings Bank has elected co-presidents Ed Hedlund and Sheryl Nilson. Hedlund, president of savings, previously served as vice president of Washington Federal Savings. Nilson, president of lending, previously served as president and co-founder of Phoenix Mortgage Co., the bank's predecessor. Phoenix Savings Bank is headquartered in Lynnwood.
Caitlin Donahue has been named assistant account executive at Dugovich & Associates, Inc. Public Relations in Renton.
Lisa J. Oman and Robert A. Radcliffe were elected shareholders with the Seattle-based law firm Karr Tuttle Campbell. Oman is a member of the employment relations department. Radcliffe is a member of the litigation and employment relations department.
Spokane-based Sterling Financial has signed an agreement to acquire Big Sky Bancorp and its subsidiary, First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Montana. First Federal has offices in Missoula and Hamilton.

Clemens H. Barnes and Clifford D. Sethness have joined Lane Powell Spears Lubersky in the Seattle law office as partners in the Labor and Employment Department. Linda D. Walton has joined the Seattle office as Counsel to the firm. Paul M. Nordsletten has been elected partner in the Seattle office.
The Legislative Task Force on River Governance was recently created as a regional forum on salmon, water and power issues for Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. The task force will be a bipartisan legislative forum to discuss the role and duties of state legislatures with regard to potential listing of Northwest salmon under the Endangered Species Act.
John D. Walker has been appointed vice president and general manager of Simpson Timber Co.'s Northwest Timber and Wood Business Unit, based in Shelton. Walker will manage over 411,000 acres of timberland in Washington and Oregon.
Barnett Implement of Snohomish, Inc. has changed its name to Barnett Turf & Tractor. The company will continue the sales and service of lawn and garden, commercial, grounds maintenance, golf and turf equipment.
Weber Marketing Group, a Seattle-based marketing communications agency, has hired Cheryl Teitzel as production coordinator. Teitzel will manage print, direct mail and retail merchandising projects for agency clients and assist in planning direct marketing campaigns.
Port Blakely Tree Farms has appointed Dr. Ken Risenhoover director of its Wildlife and Fisheries Program. Risenhoover formerly served as a professor and director of the Wildlife Habitat Analysis Laboratory at Texas A & M University. Port Blakely Tree Farms is based in Seattle.
The International Institute of Cosmetic Dentistry, founded by Aalam Samsavar, will open for business May 11. The new practice will be located in Bellevue's Moltissimo Building. Samsavar previously operated a general dental practice in Kirkland. The new practice will feature non-surgical procedures including teeth whitening, advanced bonding, crowns and bridges.
Bruce Savett has joined Paragon Real Estate Advisors as an associate broker focusing on apartment sales. Savett has 12 years of experience in sales and financing of apartments in California.
Kauri Investments, a Seattle real estate development and management firm, has made two management promotions. David Lightfoot has been named president and CEO and Nancy Dardarian has been named executive vice president and director of property management. Jim Potter remains as chairman. Lightfoot joined the firm in 1996 as CFO and Dardarian was hired as director of property management in 1996. Kauri has developed or substantially rehabbed 1,800 housing units and manages more than 1,100 units. The firm has diversified into mixed-use residential and commercial properties and is expanding its services to include fee development and consulting.
The Kirkland office of Windermere Real Estate has hired Nathan Summers as a new sales associate. He formerly was with Skyline Properties. In the Enumclaw office, Catherine Bunker has joined as a sales agent. She is new to real estate after owning and operating the Gold Creek Equestrian Center in Woodinville for eight years. Ivan Salaverry has joined the Lake Forest Park office, where he is a sales agent. Salaverry previously worked for Pookie Productions. And in the Monroe office, Allen P. Hentschell has been hired in sales. He has over 22 years' experience in real estate, most recently with Coldwell Banker Bain in Duvall. Hentschell specializes in land, homes on acreage and residential communities in Snohomish and north King counties.
