Graham & James/Riddell Williams

Barbara Shickich, an attorney with the Seattle law firm of Graham & James/Riddell Williams, was recently elected president of the board of directors for the Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys. Shickich has been practicing healthcare law for 18 years.

Metapath Software

Metapath Software, a Bellevue-based provider of integrated, real-time mediation, provisioning and subscriber information systems, has selected Kevin Niemi as its new vice president of engineering. Niemi will be responsible for strategic development and technology.

Xerox

Robert J. Strayhan has been named vice president and general manager for Xerox of the Pacific Northwest. Strayhan will oversee all business activities in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and Northern California.

International Glass Museum

Lloyd Herman, founding director of the national craft museum of the U.S., the Smithsonian Institution's Renwick Gallery, has joined the senior management team of the International Glass Museum as acting senior curator. Herman will develop policies and planning for exhibitions, public programs and the museum's permanent collection, paving the way for hiring a full time museum curator. The International Glass Museum, presently under final construction planning and design in Tacoma, is scheduled to open in 2001. The museum was designed by Canadian architect Arthur Erickson.

Northwest Hospital

Northwest Hospital has added Susan B. Thomason, M.D., to the hospital staff at the Lake Forest Park Medical Clinic as a physician specializing in family practice.

Safeco

The following people were recently promoted at Safeco's meetings in Seattle: Scott Owen, Doug Blank, Janice Schafer, John Elwell, Jeff Ogard, David Wiley, Jeanne Lind, Chris Purcell, Tom Purkhiser, Greg Davenport, Paul A. Stevenson, Jim Pirak, Kimberly E. McSheridan, and Leslie A. Harrison.

Sunrise Assisted Living

Sunrise Assisted Living of Bellevue has appointed Ann Kusher to the post of Alzheimer's/Reminiscence Program Coordinator. The community is scheduled to open this summer.

Paradise Bakery & Cafe

Atlanta-based AFC Enterprises has signed a letter of intent to acquire the assets of Paradise Bakery & Cafe, a 49-unit fresh food bakery. This deal includes 15 company cafes, 34 franchised units and a commissary. In March, AFC purchased Seattle Coffee Co.

Parker LePla

Parker LePla, a Seattle-based brand development and public relations firm, has added Cheryl Stumbo as director; Sarah Priestman as a writer; Sunshine Morrison as a consultant; and Nancy Robbers as office manager.
