Deloitte & Touche

Larry A. Breitbarth has joined the Seattle offices of the accounting firm Deloitte & Touche as management solutions and services senior manager. Breitbarth specializes in the valuation of businesses, intangible assets and financial instruments.

Marshall Paris Insurance

Valerie J. Corekin has joined Bothell's Marshall Paris Insurance, Inc. as vice president, commercial division to fulfill insurance needs of the local business community. Corekin previously worked for Kibble and Prentice.

Williams, Kastner & Gibbs

Martin T. Jones has joined the Seattle offices of Williams, Kastner & Gibbs as of counsel. Jones concentrates his practice on land use law, as well as real estate and commercial transaction.

Washington State Quality Award

On June 11 at the fourth annual Washington State Quality Awards Banquet, Physio-Control of Redmond and Solectron,Inc. of Everett will receive the certificate of merit for quality management. The award was designed in 1994 to raise awareness about quality management in organizations throughout the state. The banquet will begin at 6 p.m. at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center in Seattle. Reservations can be made through the program office at 1-800-517-8264.

Renton Technical College

Andee Jorgensen has been elected to board chair of the Renton Technical College board of trustees. Jorgensen has been a trustee since 1992. Susan Ringwood, a trustee since 1995, was elected vice chair of the board of trustees.

The Seattle Times

The Seattle TImes Co. has promoted Robert C. Blethen from marketing director to vice president of marketing and Nancy J. Bruner from director of new media to vice president of new media.

Washington Transit Advertising

Bob English has been promoted to vice president, general sales manager for Washington Transit Advertising, a Seattle-based sales company for transit advertising. English formerly served as general sales manager for the firm.

Port of Seattle

The Port of Seattle has named Imbert Matthee media relations officer for its Marine and Corporate divisions. Matthee is the former communications director for the Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development. He most recently was Pacific Rim correspondent for the Seattle P-I.

Kent chamber awards

Several members of the Kent Chamber of Commerce won Small Business Awards and four properties in the Kent Valley received Beautification Awards. Winners of Small Business Awards were: Poe Construction (Small Business of the Year -- Gross Sales Over $2 million), Facility Maintenance Contractors (Small Business of the Year -- Gross Sales Under $2 Million), Washington Women's Employment & Education (Woman/Minority-Owned Company of the Year), Amway Northwest Service Center (Green Company of the Year) and South County Journal (Leadership Company of the Year). The four properties receiving Beautification Awards were: James Street Center (Best Large Project -- Building Over 20,000 Square Feet), Kent Community Center (Best Small Project -- Building Under 20,0000 Square Feet), West Valley Business Park (Best Landscaping/Site Development) and Ski's Painting Facility (Best Renovation).

Renton Technical College

Renton Technical College appointed Carol Werner as vice president of finance and administration.

Sound Floor Coverings

Seattle-based Sound Floor Coverings hired Diana Lin as manager of business integration and Linda Meiusi as market research analyst. Lin will be working on several projects to help integrate separate but related company functions. Meiusi will focus on company marketing initiatives.

Washington Women Lawyers

The King County Chapter of Washington Women Lawyers presented Washington Supreme Court Justice Barbara A. Madsen with its Vanguard award. The Vanguard is given every year to a judge the chapter believes has contributed most to the progression of women in the legal field.

Kidder Mathews & Segner

Patricia Lindsey has joined the Seattle office of Kidder, Mathews & Segner Oncor International. She was formerly with CB Commercial, working as a retail broker for the past 18 years. Lindsey plans to advance Kidder's retail division.

Unico Properties

John Hansen has been named director of leasing for Unico Properties, overseeing activities in the 1.4 million-square-foot Metropolitan Tract for the company. He is succeeding Tom Callahan who is retiring in June after 30 years with Unico. Hansen was formerly with LaSalle Partners where he was most recently responsible for leasing for US Bank Centre and Queen Anne Square. Prior to that, he worked for RREEF Funds. In addition to the office and retail space downtown, Hansen will assist with leasing Unico's recently acquired properties.

Concord

This Saturday units in the North Tower of The Concord condominiums will go on sale. Condos in the First Avenue complex's 110-unit South Tower were 80 percent pre-sold during the first month they were on the market. The property is being billed as the "ultimate urban cocoon," with multi-media wall outlets in every unit. Virtual tours of the 223-unit, twin-tower condo were developed by HyperMedia. T. Jones Inc. is the developer. The firm also handled the renovation of The Elektra.

North Coast Mortgage

North Coast Mortgage, a subsidiary of L.J. Melody & Co., arranged permanent financing for the Hyatt Regency at Bellevue Place. Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America provided $32 million in funding for the borrower, Bellevue Place Hotel Limited Partnership.

CREW meeting June 10

Commercial Real Estate Women-Northwest will meet June 10 for a luncheon and presentation on the expansion of Sea-Tac Airport. Gina Marie Lindsey, aviation director for the Port of Seattle, will discuss the Port's commercial development strategies and changes coming to Sea-Tac. The event will be held at The Rainier Club, starting at 11:45 a.m. Cost is $22.50 for members and $30 for non-members. For information call CREW at 441-3966.

CREW, NAIOP to brighten Brighton

Members of the Washington State Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and Commercial Real Estate Women, Northwest (CREW-NW) will hold their annual community enhancement project June 6 at Brighton Elementary School on South Holly Street. They will be joined by local school officials, parents, teachers and children to work on painting, landscaping, pruning and weeding.
