Credit Union of the Pacific

The Credit Union of the Pacific opened its newest branch in the Lakewood Mall in Tacoma. The facility, which includes teller work stations, an in-branch ATM machine, and a member-use computer station, was designed by The Driftmier Architects.

Commission on Judicial Conduct

The Commission on Judicial Conduct elected Gregory R. Dallaire, a Seattle lawyer, chair; Todd K. Whitrock, citizen member, vice-chair; and Vivian Caver, citizen member, secretary, as its officers for next year. The 11-member commission is comprised of six non-lawyer citizens appointed by the Governor, two lawyers appointed by the Bar and three judges.

Coinstar

Bellevue-based Coinstar Inc. has formed a wholly-owned subsidiary, Coinstar International, which will focus on developing new Coinstar self-service coin counting business outside the United States. John Melin has been appointed to lead business development for Coinstar International.

First Heritage Bank

The shareholders of First Heritage Bank of Snohomish elected Dennis Frederick, Ph.D., to its board of directors. Frederick is the president of Frederick & Associates, a national consulting firm specializing in strategic planning.

Sterling Savings

Linda Barksdale was promoted to assistant vice president for Sterling Savings Association, a Spokane-based stock savings association. Barksdale, working out of the Bellevue office, is the regional operations coordinator for Sterling's western region.

Girl Scouts Totem Council

Cheryl Chow was recently appointed to the Girl Scouts -- Totem Council's board of directors. Chow will assist in policy making, financial management and strategic planning. Chow, former two-term city council member, is currently the interim principal at Franklin High School.

King County

The King County Department of Parks and Recreation has hired Karleen Sakumoto as its new deputy director. Sakumoto has been promoted from the King County Department of Natural Resources, where she formerly served as manager of the Public Outreach Section.

Port of Seattle

Jim Serrill has been appointed general manager for Fishermen's Terminal Piers and Properties for the Port of Seattle. Serrill is replacing Greg Money, who retired after 27 years at the Port. Serrill previously served as manager of technical services in aviation operations at Sea-Tac International Airport.

Morse McFadden

Morse McFadden Communications, Inc., a Kirkland-based public relations agency, recently hired Shane Toponce as account coordinator.

Quadrant/KMS

Keith Kaiser has been appointed president of Quadrant/KMS Management Services, a property management firm with offices in Bellevue, Seattle, Bothell, Tacoma and Tukwila. Kaiser has 22 years of experience in commercial real estate, having worked for The Norman Company, the Koll Company and his own firm, Kaiser and Associates.

Cushman & Wakefield

James L. Bowles has been named senior managing director of Cushman & Wakefield's Pacific Northwest Area. He began overseeing the firm's operations in its Bellevue and Seattle offices on June 8. A 20-year veteran of commercial real estate, Bowles previously was regional manager of Colliers Macaulay Nicolls, and for the last 18 months was that firm's senior vice president of U.S. operations. Bowles also serves on the board of directors of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, and is a past president of the Commercial Brokers Association. He is on an advisory board at the University of Washington, where he is working to establish a school of commercial real estate.

Bianco Properties

Kelly Bailey has been hired as general manager of Seattle operations for Bianco Properties, a Seattle firm specializing in business and investment real estate. Bailey oversees management of 1,000 apartment units in four communities. Bianco has interests in 23 properties totalling over 2 million square feet of commercial, industrial, office and apartment buildings. The properties are located in Tacoma; Olympia; Federal Way; St. Louis, Mo.; and Tulsa, Okla.

Coldwell Banker Bain

Terry Miller, a sales agent with Coldwell Banker Bain's Seattle Metro-Capitol Hill office, has earned the Certified Residential Specialist designation. Persons who earn the CRS designation must complete courses required by the Residential Sales Council and demonstrate particular expertise in residential real estate marketing. Only 5 percent of real estate agents nationwide hold the designation.
