Crowley Marine Services

Brent Stienecker, president of Seattle-based Crowley Marine Services has announced his retirement, effective at year-end. Stienecker joined the firm in 1975 as marine marketing manager and was named president in 1992. Tom Martin, vice president and general manager of West Coast and Alaska, will continue to direct all West Coast activities including marine operations. Gary Faber will report to Martin with responsibility for all West Coast marine operations as well as salvage and emergency response services. Steve Peterson has been named vice president and general manager of East Coast and International Services. Alex Sweeney and Bruce Harland will report to Peterson. Charlie Nalen, vice president of environmental affairs, will assume responsibility for corporation-wide safety and environmental programs. Crowley has also formed a new subsidiary, Crowley Logistics, headed by John Hourihan.

Hinton and Steel Advertising

Vivian Egashira has been promoted to vice president/general manager at Seattle's Hinton and Steel Advertising. Egashira formerly served as production and account manager.

Public Storage Pickup & Delivery

Public Storage & Delivery, a portable self-storage firm, has opened for business and operates from a high-security facility located at 701 SW 39th St. in Renton.

Fatigue Technology

Lea Savoy has joined Seattle-based Fatigue Technology Inc. as the communications specialist in the marketing department. Savoy formerly served as a freelance writer and producer on local television projects in Seattle and Tacoma. Fatigue Technology sells patented and proprietary products to the aerospace industry for extending the life of metal structures.

ASAP Software Express

ASAP Software Express, a reseller of computer software to corporations and government, has opened an office in Bellevue, located at 40 Lake Bellevue, Suite 100.

City of Seattle

J. Lynn Jacobs has been confirmed as the city's new chief technology officer, responsible for handling the municipal government's use of technology. Jacobs was chief information officer for Dream Works SKG where she oversaw an annual budget of $20 million. Before that she worked for MCA/Universal Studios.

AGRA

Conrad W. Felice has joined AGRA Earth & Environmental of Kirkland as principal and Northwest regional manager responsible for geotechnical engineering. He was previously manager of geotechnical engineering in the Pacific Northwest for Dames & Moore. His projects include Street Station seismic upgrades, the Cross Cascade Pipeline project and the third runway at SeaTac International Airport.

Hart Crowser

Carl Einberger has joined the staff of Hart Crowser as associate hydrogeologist. He was most recently with Golder Associates, where he completed a natural attenuation study for a 10-year-old oil spill. At Hart Crowser, he is managing the redevelopment of an industrial brownfield. The firm has also made two additions to its Anchorage office. Jon Wolf is a senior staff hydrogeologist with more than five years of experience in remote-site environmental investigations involving groundwater and surface water monitoring. Adam Chawes is a field technician with a degree in environmental policy and assessment.

INCA

Jeff Dendy has recently joined INCA Engineers, Inc. of Bellevue as project manager in the facilities department. He has over 14 years of experience in civil project design, with a focus on stormwater management.

Coffman

Gary E. Gill has joined Coffman Engineers as senior structural engineer. He was most recently with Art Anderson Associates. Gill is currently working the $110 million River Park Square Mall in Spokane and the Port Orchard City Hall project. Timber Chinn has been promoted to human resources manager for Coffman Engineers.

AESI

John Peterson has joined Associated Earth Sciences Inc. (AESI) of Kirkland as a senior project geologist, and will manage the company's Bainbridge Island office. He specializes in landslide containment and remediation. Peterson previously managed quality assurance for critical areas reviews with the City of Seattle Department of Construction and Land Use. Jon Sondergaard has joined the firm as a senior project geologist. His recent geotechnical project management experience includes The River Park Square redevelopment in Spokane and the Northgate North office and parking complex. Judith Light has joined the firm as a senior biologist. Her recent project experience includes natural resource assessment and permitting for Seattle Public Utilities Tolt pipeline project, Tacoma Public Utilities Second Supply project and the Clearview Water Supply project. Frederick L. Huston Jr. has joined the firm as project biologist. His professional specialties include wetland delineation and permitting support for Intracorps's East Village project in Issaquah and a proposed rail siting along the Columbia River Gorge. Jesse Overton and Cara M. Diehm have joined AESI as staff geologists, involved with environmental site assessments and testing. Kirsten Stephanie Arnold has joined the firm as a staff scientist.

BOORA

BOORA Architects, Inc. of Portland has added six employees to the staff. Cornell Anderson, a graduate of North Carolina State University, is currently working on a new 51,000-square-foot clinic for Kaiser Permanente in Tualatin. Since joining BOORA, he has also assisted teams with a new practice facility for the Portland Trail Blazers in Tualatin and the Eastbank Riverfront Park Esplanade. Marc Curtis joins BOORA's interior design team. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, Curtis worked with a Netherlands firm designing interiors for commercial and residential buildings before returning to the United States in 1996. Texas-registered architect Tien Duong brings 18 years of experience to the firm. He is working on several projects at BOORA, including improvements and renovations to Portland schools and a new recreational fitness center at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Gregory Flinders is working on the new 34,000-square-foot Trail Blazer practice facility in Tualatin, which is currently under construction. A registered architect in Arizona, Flinders brings to BOORA six years of experience working on projects ranging from design and construction of hotel and resort facilities to programming and operational/event planning for 20 venues and 35 sports at the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games. Oklahoma-registered architect Keith Fugate is working on a 6,500-square-foot private residence located in the northwest hills. Fugate graduated with a degreed in architecture from Oklahoma State University and worked for firms in Oklahoma and Hawaii prior to moving to Portland. Rachel Kaplan is working on the Cinerama Theatre. Kaplan earned her master of architecture from University of Oregon and her undergraduate degree in comparative literature and creative writing from the University of California at Berkeley.

Bush Roed & Hitchings

Moqueet Syed has joined Bush Roed & Hitchings as a project engineer, with 14 years of experience in commercial and industrial development design. He is currently working on Rite Aid store projects in Ephrata, Tacoma and Edgewood. Ray Thomas has joined the firm as a survey drafter. He is currently working on surveys for Safeway in Burien, and as-built surveys for Alderwood Mall.

Yost Grube Hall

Architect Robert Curry has joined Yost Grube Hall of Portland. He specializes in sustainable building strategies, and spent the last ten years with BOORA of Portland. Al Ramirez has joined the firm with over five years of experience as an architectural intern with firms including WE Group and Color & Design. Audrey Carty has joined Yost Grube Hall as an intern architect. He recently served as a volunteer assistant and juror in the architecture program at Technische Universitat in Berlin.

Anderson Koch & Smith

Scott Harm has been promoted to vice president of the San Diego office of Anderson Koch & Smith, which is based in Seattle. Other recent staff promotions include new associates Jeff Foster and Cordi Bailey. Foster is lead designer for the Marine Corps Training Center in Pasadena and project architect for the Ida Terrace Condominiums in Bellevue. Bailey is the office administrator. New staff member Gordon Hicks is at work on a study center for the Friday Harbor Campus of the University of Washington, James Shanahan is at work on the design of a golf course and country club, project architect John Marx is working on a military facility in Bangor and interior designer Leslie Klein is working on a private residence. Additions to the staff also include administrative assistant Kelly Schroeder and marketing coordinator Amanda Parks.

Publicis Dialog

Publicis Dialog has appointed Steve Bryant president of the national marketing communications firm's Seattle public relations division. Bryant succeeds Andy Hopson, who became president of Publicis Dialog nationally.

Lane Powell Spears Lubersky

Alison L. Yearsley has joined the law firm Lane Powell Spears Lubersky in the Seattle office as an associate and will concentrate her practice in the areas of product and premises liability and insurance defense.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts

Yogi Hutsen, general manager at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers, has been named managing director for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. Starwood recently acquired Sheraton. Hutsen will oversee 11 properties in Washington and Oregon while maintaining his duties as general manager at Sheraton.

Shuttle Express

Seattle-based Shuttle Express has experienced a 9.2 percent growth in demand for its door-to-door share-ride service and expects the growth to continue through the summer. The company is adding 12 new Dodge Ram vans, bringing the fleet to 90 vans and 16 town cars.

Perkins Coie

Seattle law firm Perkins Coie has added Georges H.G. Yates as an associate in the Business Transactions Group. Yates formerly worked with Bullivant Houser Bailey.

Washington Alarm

Washington Alarm Inc. has acquired Northwest Communications & Alarm of Seattle and will provide service using Washington Alarm's in-house central monitoring station on South Jackson Street.
