Northwestern Trust and Investors

Elaine P. Adams and Tom Peterson have joined Northwestern Trust and Investors Advisory Co. as vice presidents. Adams formerly worked for Copper Mountain Trust Corp. Peterson formerly served as executive vice president and managing director for Centurion Trust Co. in Arizona.

Microsoft names vice presidents

Microsoft Corp. announced the promotion of Harel Kodesh and Moshe Lichtman to vice president. Kodesh, vice president of consumer appliances, manages the development and marketing of the Microsoft Windows CE operating system and its embedded development kits, as well as categories of information appliances that run on Windows CE, such as the Handheld PC, Palm-size PC, Auto PC and Sega Dreamcast. Kodesh reports to Craig Mundie, senior vice president of the consumer platforms group. Lichtman will assume the new role of vice president, digital TV platform strategy, and will report to Paul Maritz, group vice president of platforms and applications. Lichtman will coordinate efforts under way in Microsoft groups such as Windows, Windows CE, WebTV Networks and the interactive media group to provide a strategic focus for the company's infrastructure for future television-related products.

Leland Consulting Group

Leland Consulting Group, Real Estate Economists and Developmental Advisors has named Matthew Aho and Paul Dennis as senior associates in the firm's Portland office. Dennis, formerly of E.D. Hovee and Co. of Vancouver, is working on light rail projects in Seattle and Denver. Aho has been an associate at the firm for two years. He is performing feasibility projects for Indian communities in the Southwest and transportation growth projects in Oregon.

Trammell Crow Co.

Katy Durant and Gary Gilbert have joined the Portland office of Trammell Crow Co. as vice presidents. Both will be handling sales of industrial, office and retail investment properties. Durant has eight years of investment sales experience in the Portland and Northwest markets. Gilbert has 14 years of industrial and investment sales experience.

Windermere Real Estate

Real Trends, a national real estate trade publication, recently ranked Windermere Real Estate the nation's largest regional real estate brokerage in a special report from its annual Top 450 Survey. Windermere ranked first nationally in three categories: number of offices (159), number of agents (3,638) and 1997 sales volume (more than $10 billion.) Veronica Johnson has joined Windermere Real Estate's Mount Baker neighborhood in Seattle. Johnson is new to real estate. She previously worked for the Washington State Department of Transportation.

CB Richard Ellis Inc.

Bob Farra has rejoined CB Richard Ellis Inc. as a senior vice president. He works in the Bellevue office.

Colliers International

Monte Decker and Andrea Peterson have joined Colliers International's Tacoma office as commercial real estate agents.
