Mary-Alice Pomputius has joined Foster Pepper & Shefelman as of counsel, practicing intellectual property and trademark law in the firm's Seattle office. Pomputius formerly served as special counsel at Cooley Godward in Palo Alto, Calif.
Richard R. Albrecht, former executive vice president of the commercial airplane group for The Boeing Co., has rejoined the Seattle law firm of Perkins Coie as counsel. Albrecht was a partner from 1968 to 1974 and joined Boeing in 1976.
Hammerquist & Halverson, a Seattle-based advertising agency, has promoted Ian Cohen to associate creative director. Cohen most recently served as copywriter. Brenda Collons, who formerly worked at DDB Needham-Chicago, has joined the firm as account supervisor.
Janet E. Frickelton has been named human resources director at Pierce College. Frickelton formerly served as acting chief for the Washington State University division and general counsel for The Evergreen State College, Bates Technical College, Green River Community College and Centralia College.
Steve Boyer has joined The Rockey Co., a Seattle-based public relations firm, as vice president. Boyer formerly served as director of corporate communications for Services Group of America.
Seattle Symphony has appointed Sandi Macdonald to director of marketing and communications. Macdonald will be responsible for earned ticket revenue goals, merchandising programs and will manage the key messages of the institution. Macdonald formerly served as director of marketing at Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
William M. Mercer Inc. has named Robert O'Brien global health care and group benefits practice leader. H. Paul Gilbert has been named office head for the Seattle office. O'Brien formerly served as the office head in Seattle. Gilbert was formerly involved with the development of the retirement and investment consulting practices. Mercer is a Seattle-based human resource consulting firm.
Seattle's Sports Radio 950 KJR-AM has added Seth Everett as host of a Saturday afternoon radio show and an update anchor weekdays.
Locally owned Sleep-Aire Mattress Co. has recently expanded to the Issaquah Commons at 975-C NW Gilman Boulevard. John Foster has been named manager of the new location.
Stacey Stumph has been named senior loan officer and manager of Evergreen Community Development Association's newest office in Spokane. Stumph formerly served as a senior loan officer at the firm's office in Yakima.

Seattle-based Service Intelligence recently merged with a group of Atlanta-based training experts to form a measurement and training company devoted to customer service issues. The new company will be headquartered in Atlanta but will retain the Service Intelligence name. It will be headed by CEO David Deutsch. Service Intelligence has also formed a partnership with J.D. Power and Assoc. to develop a performance-based approach to customer service training. Firm founders Lisa Goodman, Peter Gurney and Susan Smith will remain with the company in executive-level positions.
The Hotel Group Inc. has assumed management responsibility for six hotels in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Hotel Group has management offices in Seattle.
Kate Quinn, purchasing manager at the Bellevue-based direct marketing agency The Hacker Group, has been elected president of the Seattle chapter of the Association of Production Artists. The organization, which Quinn helped found in 1987, is devoted to increasing the skills and career-development opportunities for production professionals.
