Asterion Inc.

Asterion Inc., a Seattle-based developer of health care information systems, has named Christopher Howlett vice president for sales and marketing. Howlett's responsibilities encompass all aspects of building and implementing the company's sales and marketing program, including the development of the business plan and national sales and marketing team, and creation of marketing and sales materials. Howlett formerly served as associate vice president and division manager for Laboratory Corporation of America.

Belmont Terrace

Robert Washbond has been named administrator of Belmont Terrace, an assisted living and nursing facility in Bremerton. Washbond formerly served as administrator at Regency in Spokane.

International Festival and Events Association

The International Festival and Events Association, a Port Angeles-based organization serving over 2,500 festivals and events worldwide, has named Scott Nagel vice president of special projects and advocacy. Nagel formerly served as executive director of the Northwest Folklife Festival.

Coldwell Banker Bain

Matt Elggren is the newest corporate liaison at Coldwell Banker Bain's Business Development Center. He had been working in Salt Lake City as a real estate agent and now is assigned to the Relocation Department where he works with corporations that are moving employees to the Puget Sound region.

Leland Consulting Group

Angela Kremer has joined Leland Consulting Group, Real Estate Economists and Development Advisors, as an associate in the Portland office. She is researching mixed-use development and providing support in market studies as well as directing marketing for Leland's Portland and Denver offices.

Opus Northwest

Opus Northwest will be moving to larger quarters next week. The growing development company is vacating space in the Progressive Building and moving to Suite 300 of Gateway II, 915 118th Ave. S.E., in Bellevue. Opus will occupy 8,000 square feet, approximately three times the space it currently has. The move will occur Dec. 4 and be in effect Dec. 7. Opus' phone number will remain (425) 453-4100.

Bankers Mutual

Bankers Mutual has opened an office in Bellevue to provide conventional and tax-exempt bond financing for multifamily and commercial projects throughout the Northwest with emphasis on Seattle, Portland and Boise, Idaho. This is one of several new offices opening as part of the company's expansion. Alan Holcombe has joined the firm as director of loan production. He has more than 25 years of income property lending experience, most recently with CB Commercial.

No Boundaries Limited

No Boundaries Limited has bought the Metropole Building, 423 Second Ave. Ext. S., in Seattle for $1.325 million from Diamond Properties, a Korean firm that occupied the upper floors of the three-story, 20,000 square foot building. The building was built as two structures in 1895 but joined during a 1970 renovation. No Boundaries owns the Interurban Building next door. Tom Graff of Ewing & Clark brokered the deal.

Windermere

Jim Palmer has joined the Magnolia office of Windermere Real Estate as a sales associate. He previously worked for Palmer Associates.

Marcus & Millichap

Robert Parmar of Marcus and Millichap brokered the sale of Capitol East Apartments, 315 23rd Ave. E. Bruce L. Brown sold the complex, which has nine units and one nonconforming unit, for $780,000 to Gloria Lee et al, a family partnership. Parmar represented both the buyers and seller.

Property Counselors

A presentation of new findings on marine industrial land will be given at the Seattle Marine Business Coalition's 11:45 a.m. Dec. 9 luncheon at the Swedish Club, 1920 Dexter Ave. N., Seattle. Greg Easton of Property Counselors, John Pilcher of the Port of Seattle and port Commissioner Clare Nordquist are scheduled to speak about the study on marine industrial land that Property Counselors recently completed for the port. Retail in-fill is CREW topic

Commercial Real Estate Women Northwest will feature a presentation on retail in-fill projects, such as TRF Pacific's new mall in Woodinville, at noon Dec. 10 at the Washington Athletic Club. TRF Pacific President Bob Parks will speak about the mall and his company's plans to redevelop Roosevelt Square in Seattle. Government takings conference

A conference on government takings is scheduled for Dec. 17-18 at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue. Experts will discuss recent developments in the law of takings. Also on the agenda are discussions of eminent domain, public use, partial takings, development and other rights and easements as well as administrative procedures and trial practice.
