Cairncross & Hempelmann, a Seattle-based law firm, recently hired Stephen C. Sieberson as a principal in its business practice group. Sieberson formerly worked at Bogle & Gates in Seattle. Sieberson will be active in the firm's securities, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions practice, as well as the intellectual property practice. Marlyn K. Hawkins was recently added and will practice in civil trial and appellate litigation and employment law. Hawkins formerly served as a King County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in the criminal division.
Continental Savings Bank has promoted Esther Davis to assistant vice president and Ballard/Crown Hill branch manager. Davis formerly worked for Great Western Savings Bank in Ballard.
Chris Nyberg has been named general manager of The Summit at Snoqualmie, a Booth Creek resort. Nyberg formerly served as vice president of product development, sales and support for Bombardier Services in Quebec, Canada.
John Atkins was recently named editor of Seattle Magazine. Atkins formerly served as editor of the Tacoma City Paper.

Commercial real estate veteran Douglas Bonner has joined Quadrant as senior development manager. He will be responsible for managing the development company's 72-acre Snoqualmie Ridge Business Park. He worked in the Bellevue office of the Vyzis Co., for 10 years. Kristin Jensen has joined Quadrant as a project manager. She will focus on construction of the processing center for Capital One at Quadrant's East Campus Corporate Park in Federal Way and construction of initial tenant improvements at the Quadrant Lake Union Center in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. Quadrant sold the Lake Union Center to Bedford Properties but still handles some management duties at the project. Before joining Quadrant, Jensen worked as a project manager for Kurt Jensen Architects.
BRE Properties, which develops and manages multifamily properties in the West, has announced that Pacific Northwest Managing Director Drew Colquitt and his development team will identify and underwrite all acquisitions in the region. The Seattle and Portland metro areas represent a key market for San Francisco-based BRE because of the Northwest's high-growth and supply-constrained characteristics, Colquitt said. In Seattle, BRE is focused on two areas: south of the northern intersection of Interstates 5 and 405 and north of Interstate 90. BRE has decentralized its acquisition function by eliminating the corporate acquisition department in San Francisco.
Marcus & Millichap brokers handled the recent $1.59 million sale of The Westside Lanes Building in Olympia. The buyer of the 33,116-square-foot building, Warren Schram of Bellevue, was represented by Steve Sherman. Victor Wuamett represented the seller, the California Income Fund.
Norris, Beggs & Simpson has promoted Ava Schrader to senior property manager. Schrader, who works in the Bellevue office, joined the firm's Property Management Department in 1992. She has managed properties larger than 450,000 square feet. Her focus has been high-rise office buildings.
Five new sales associates have been added to Windermere offices in Seattle. New associates are Timothy Griffin and Robert Powell in the Mount Baker office; Richard Tebbetts at the Wall Street office; and Jonathan Christiansen and Kelland Lindsey has the Wedgwood office.
Four top-producing agents have been named to the Agent Leadership Council of Keller Williams Realty, Bellevue. They are Karen McKnight, Herb Holcombe, Phil Jones and Doug Long. Councils are made up of agents who finish sales in the top 20 percent of their offices. Keller Williams also is offering classes. One is 30-clock hours and is designed for new agents. The class begins April 21 and continues with two sessions of four hours each for the next four weeks in May. Cost is $195. The second is 60-hour clock approved course to certify agents to sell homes in Washington. It is a self-learning course taught through interactive computer training. Cost is $295 plus $75 for textbooks. And Althea Osborn, Austin, Texas' top real estate agent and a former member of the British Secret Service, will speak at Keller Williams' free monthly symposium at the Bellefield Office Conference Center on 114th Avenue Southeast off Southeast Eighth in Bellevue from 4 to 6 p.m. April 21.
