Judy Marczewski was recently named chief financial officer of Leisure Care, a Bellevue-based retirement housing firm. Marczewski formerly served as chief financial officer of CTS International Inc.
Bryan Parker has been promoted to sales manager for Sound Floor Coverings, a Seattle-based flooring distributor. Parker formerly served as product manager for the carpeting and vinyl lines.
The Seattle office of investment firm Dain Rauscher recently promoted Jerry Medved from first vice president-investment officer to senior vice president-investment officer; Pat Elliot, Mark Bailey, Martin Calvert, Robert Fahrer and B.J. Rasmussen from vice president-investment officers to first vice president-investment officers; Charlie Odell and James Medved from associate vice president-investment officers to vice president-investment officers; and Brad Blind, William Bredice, Michael Geri and Gregory Rupert from investment officers to associate vice president-investment officers.
SCS Refrigerated Services, a Seattle-based dry and temperature-controlled storage company, has appointed Bonnie Geise to assistant vice president of operations. Brenda Jorgenson has been promoted to marketing and sales manager.
Gray Line of Seattle has announced an expanded Airport Express summer schedule offering transportation between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and downtown Seattle. Advanced Research Systems, a Seattle-based developer of the Atlantes Care Management System, recently added Mark Hervol as quality assurance manager. Hervol formerly served as quality assurance manager lead of Microsoft's SMS Division.

McKinley Group, an executive search firm, recently signed a definitive agreement to merge with Rayco Professional Services Inc., a Portland-based high technology recruiting firm. McKinley Group is located in San Francisco but plans to move its headquarters to Portland and consolidate its agreement with Rayco.
Yesler Software Inc., a Seattle-based Internet applications and service company, recently changed its name to Alive.com Inc.
King County Superior Court Presiding Judge Bobbe J. Bridge has been named president of the State Superior Court Judges' Association. Other new officers include Spokane County Superior Court Judge Jim Murphy, president-elect; Skagit County Superior Court Judge Susan Cook, treasurer; and Kitsap Superior Court Judge M. Karlynn Haberly, secretary.
Doug McFadyen is moving from Koehler, McFadyen & Co. to join the Broderick Group, an Eastside real estate brokerage firm in Bellevue. McFadyen has been active in the Puget Sound commercial real estate market since starting with Coldwell Banker & Co./Henry Broderick in Seattle in 1972. Koehler McFadyen was formed in 1981 by McFadyen and Steve Koehler to provide commercial property development and property management services.
Mark Rowe has joined Quadrant's commercial real estate division as a project manager. He will be responsible for overseeing construction, development and leasing/sales of Quadrant I-5 Corporate Park, Quadrant Seaway Center and the company's Auburn retail properties. Before joining Quadrant, Rowe identified and analyzed potential development opportunities for Koll Development Co. in Bellevue. He also had been an investment analyst for Northland Financial Co., also in Bellevue. He began in commercial real estate as an appraiser for Reese and Associates in Seattle. He is an Edmonds native.
Joe Baer of Norris, Beggs & Simpson recently represented John Hancock Life Insurance Co., in the sale of the 132-unit Gateway Pointe apartment complex in Renton. It sold for $5.6 million to FowlerShore & Flanagan of Sausalito, Calif. FowlerShore & Flanagan controls more than 28,000 apartments in 15 states, making it the 30th largest apartment owner in the country.
HomeGain.com, the Internet's first resource center for home sellers, says it registered 1,000 real estate agents in its first 48 hours on the World Wide Web. According to the Emeryville, Calif., company, this is one of the largest initial responses to a site in real estate history and is in addition to hundreds of registered home sellers. The site received registrations from agents in 46 states and from every major national and regional real estate brand. The site allows seller to choose an agent online by comparing qualifications.
Today the Department of Housing and Urban Development unveils its new electronic information kiosk in the First Avenue lobby of the Jackson Federal Office Building at 915 Second Ave. The kiosk will give Seattle residents greater access to housing services and information such as finding affordable rental housing, how to file a discrimination complaint or learn more about HUD programs. The new service delivery method won an Electronic Government Pioneer Award. Nationwide HUD kiosks can be found in city halls, shopping malls and other public spaces.
