PeakSoft Multinet, located at http://www.peak.com, a Bellingham-based provider of Internet communication solutions, announced the appointment of Rocky Botts as creative director and Steve Minor as project director. Botts has over 15 years of creative marketing experience. Minor has over 20 years of experience and is the founder and president of Waterfront Associates in Seattle. PeakSoft Multinet recently launched an online business community to offer small business users a Web site for gathering and sharing critical information.
Shelley Herman, senior vice president of First Heritage Bank in Snohomish, graduated in June from the American Bankers Association's Stonier School of Banking. The three-year curriculum is taught at the University of Delaware.
Two new people have been named to the board of trustees of Pierce College. Steve Wall was named district president/Puyallup campus president and Michele Johnson was named Fort Steilacoom campus president.
The Leadership Institute in Redmond is accepting applications for its eight-month community leadership development program which focuses on skill development and issue awareness. The institute's mission is to create strong communities by developing effective and principled leaders. New skills are applied in community action projects. Up to six new members will be appointed to the Seattle Human Rights Commission for two-year terms. Appointments must be confirmed by the Seattle City Council. The commission advises the mayor, city council and all city departments in matters that affect human rights, and reviews proposed ordinances to determine their impact on human rights. Horton Lantz Marocco has moved its offices from the Maritime Building on Western to 222 Dexter Ave. N. in the former Tony Stone building. The new offices were redesigned by the advertising agency.
Kenneth Dyckman and Roger Roe have joined the Hermanson Corp. Dyckman is a project manager responsible for design-build and plan-and-spec projects. He has 14 years of mechanical design, construction and management experience. He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA from the University of Arizona. Roe is a mechanical engineer in the company's Design-Build Department. He has over 25 years of design and construction experience, and holds a bachelor's degree and MBA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Spokane's Shea Construction has hired Thomas J. Perko and Trey Scavone as project managers. Perko has spent the past three and a half years in Bosnia and Herzegovina helping relief organizations rebuild those countries. He earned a bachelor's degree in building construction from the University of Washington, and a MBA from the University of Michigan. Scavone is working on a $7.8 million addition and renovation at Whitman College's Penrose Library in Walla Walla. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Bradley University.
Ledcor Industries of Seattle has promoted Mike Fisher and Walle Ralkowski, and hired Larry Prescott. Fisher is now the vice president of the Seattle Building Division. He has been with Ledcor for eight years and has 18 years of construction experience. In his new role, he is responsible for the operations of the local division. Ralkowski is now vice president of National Accounts. He has been with Ledcor for four years and has over 27 years of industry experience. In his new role, he is responsible for formulating contracts with national clients who have multiple construction projects throughout the United States and Canada. Prescott is the new director of Preconstruction Services. He also has over 27 years of industry experience. His role is to acquire new work and coordinate the company's marketing, estimating, scheduling and administrative efforts during the preconstruction phase of new negotiated projects.
The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers installed its new officers and directors at its annual meeting held recently in Seattle. The new officers are: Harley W. Goodman Jr. of Goodman Engineers in Little Rock, Ark., president; James E. Wolf of American Standard in Arlington, Va., president-elect; William J. Coad of McClure Engineering Associates in St. Louis, Mo., treasurer; Raymond E. Patenaude of TECO Energy in Tampa, Fla., vice president; Richard H. Rooley of Rooley Consultants in London, vice president; J. Thomas Sobieski of Airside Products Group of York International Corp. in Johnstown, Pa., vice president; and Ronald P. Vallort of The Haskell Co. in Chicago, vice president.
