Advance TelCom Group

Advanced TelCom Group, a new local telephone company entering the Puget Sound market, will begin full operation the first week of August. The company serves business, small and home-office customers, telecommunters and residential customers who want telephone and Internet access. Local headquarters are in Tacoma.

Doghouse

Henry Yamamoto has joined Doghouse Productions, a Seattle-based online communications agency, as a senior health care consultant helping clients to develop strategic Internet plans. He formerly worked for Swedish, supervising the hospital's consumer Web site.

Williams Helde

The Seattle-based new media agency Williams Helde has added several more staff. Annie S. Pak is a new senior designer. Forrest Corbett is a new Web developer. Kathy Collins is a new project administrator and Tricia Kehle is an intern for the summer.

Association of Independent Insurers

The National Association of Independent Insurers has opened a Northwest regional office in Seattle, headed by attorney Melvin Sorensen as assistant vice president and Northwest regional manager. He has been a lobbyist for the NAII for nine years.

Marketing Company Int'l

Western Internet Services, an Oregon-based network and Internet solution provider, has chosen The Marketing Company Int'l of Seattle to help build sales of Internet access through digital subscriber lines in hotels, hospitality management companies and lodging franchisors in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

Alexis Hotel

Sam Johnson was named general manager of the Alexis Hotel. He was formerly general manager of the Hotel Vintage Park in Seattle and joined Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group in 1996 as assistant general manager of the Sheraton Tacoma Hotel.

ProVideo

ProVideo is launching a new division and adding to its staff. The Seattle-based provider of legal video services has opened Lumens Media, a new division involved in corporate and high-end creative clients, reflecting the expansion of the company into those new markets. Clients include Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Lonestar and Group Health. Jamie Thomas has been hired as a duplication specialist. Keith Payne is the new lead deposition shooter and Liz Brenneman is the new legal marketing coordinator.

Southwest Washington Visitors Bureau

The city of Vancouver and Clark County have teamed up to open a Southwest Washington Convention and Visitors Bureau. Brett Wilkerson is the newly elected chair. The group will help steer plans to build a new convention and event center. Kim Bennett will be executive director. She was formerly executive director of the Camas/Washougal Chamber of Commerce. Other officers are Tom Koenninger as secretary and Mark Mathias as treasurer.
