Bartell Drugs

Bartell Drugs names managers for two new store locations. Gary Porad was named manager of the new store in the Riverton Heights/Tukwila area. Porad previously served as the assistant manager for Bartell Drugs’ Ballard location. Jerry Baroh will manage the new store located at Boren and Madison in Seattle. Prior to his recent promotion, Baroh had served as store manager for the Renton Bartell Drugs location.

Vixel Corporation

Arun Taneja, Bob Lux and Ron von Trapp join the team at the Bothell-based, Vixel Corporation, as developers of Fibre Channel products.

Sound Floor Coverings

Sound Floor Coverings has promoted several employees to new territories within the Oregon and Washington areas. Gregg Nelson is promoted to western Oregon sales manager. Bill Cronin relocates from Alaska to work in the Portland office. Rich Landrith moves from Portland area manager to cover the southern Oregon territory. Trinah Marshall moves from account development manager in southern Oregon to work the western Oregon region. Bob LaVelle moves from Spokane to western Washington as an account development manager.

GeoLogistics Americas

Rich Egan, Roy Stapleton and John Hubers join the team at GeoLogistics Americas, a freight forwarder and logistics provider based in Marietta, Ga. Egan will serve as divisional vice president at the Marietta headquarters. Stapleton joins the company as vice president of European route development and Hubers assumes the position of vice president of import and customs services in the company’s Atlanta office.

CB Richard Ellis

Mark Alexander has joined CB Richard Ellis as a managing director. He will focus on asset management and work out of the South Seattle office. A 14-year veteran of commercial real estate, he previously worked for Jones Lang LaSalle where he was a West Coast marketing director. He also was responsible for the Bank of America's Northwest portfolio that consisted of 6 million square feet. In addition to his real estate experience, he brings the perspective of working in cities such as Dallas and Atlanta so knows the opportunities and pitfalls property owners can experience during major transportation and infrastructure redevelopment.

Fleischmann Office Interiors

John Schoettler, who was a senior executive at Unico Properties, is Fleischmann Office Interiors' new chief operating officer. Schoettler was involved in the building of the 56-story Two Union Square and oversaw the management of Unico's 3.2 million square feet of office and retail space in downtown Seattle. He joins Steven Fleischmann to head the 10-year-old office interior firm. Fleischmann said Schoettler will help take the company, whose clients include Starbucks, Unico, Perkins Coie and RealNetworks, to a new level.

Lynnwood Mortgage Corporation

For two years, Lynnwood Mortgage Corporation recruited Charles Hall, and they finally landed him. He and his assistant, Melissa Kim, have moved to Lynnwood Mortgage's Northgate Branch. Hall previously worked for Washington Mutual where he was recognized nationally as the No. 1 loan officer for Washington Mutual's Consumer Banking Division in 1998 when he closed 398 loans totaling more than $70 million in mortgage production. He also was No. 1 in 1997 and finished second in total mortgage production bank-wide in 1995 and 1996. Kim was noted No. 1 customer service representative at Washington Mutual's Northgate office in 1998.

Prudential Jack White Real Estate

Prudential Jack White is the third Alaska company to join the Kirkland-based Commercial Brokers Association, the Northwest's largest commercial networking association. The 22-year-old CBA has more than 1,900 sales agents representing more than 530 real estate offices whose listings are shared in a monthly catalog, daily fax and CBA-NET, a computer database system. Prudential Jack White has been doing commercial and residential work since 1953 and has offices in Anchorage, Wasilla and Girdwood, Alaska. Eleven of its staff of 140, specialize in commercial real estate. The other Alaska real estate companies that are CBA members are Bond, Stephens, Johnson and Jackson; and Norene Realty, both of Anchorage. In other news, Whitney Ellison has returned to Prudential Jack White and will continue selling residential properties in South Anchorage and in the Campbell Lake area.

Pinnacle Realty Management Co.

Allen R. Marsh has been named vice president of Pinnacle Realty Management's West Region. He will head up operations in Arizona and New Mexico for the international company that is based in Seattle. He has 15 years' real estate experience and is focused on building Pinnacle's Arizona portfolio from 4,302 multifamily units to 6,000 in the next one to two years.

Grubb & Ellis

Grubb & Ellis Senior Vice Presidents Greg Laycock of Seattle and Tom Wanberg of Denver represented the seller of a 19-building Littleton, Colo., apartment community. Bowles Raccoon Creek PT Limited Partnership sold the nearly 17-acre The Jefferson at Raccoon Creek Apartments to an undisclosed client represented by San Francisco's SSR Realty Advisors for $30.7 million. JPI built the property, which overlooks a golf course, in 1996.

Paragon and Marcus & Millichap

The Parkwood Terrace Apartments, a 230-unit complex in Lakewood, has been sold for $3.4 million to Karl Neiders, principal of Parkwood WPIG LLC of Seattle. The property will receive a $600,000 renovation, according to Dave Meissner Jr., of Paragon Real Estate Advisors Inc., who represented the seller, Parkwood Terrace Inc., which does business as Triad Investment Co., of Federal Way. Larry Corkins and Victor Wuamett of Marcus & Millichap represented the buyer.

Marcus & Millichap

The King County Housing Authority has bought the 42-unit Alpine Ridge Apartments, 14462 Simonds Road N.E., in Bothell, for nearly $2.653 million. Ken Dudunakis of Marcus & Millichap represented the seller, Alpine Ridge Group.

Coldwell Banker Bain

Twenty-four Coldwell Banker Bain sales agents in the greater Seattle area have earned the Coldwell Banker Previews Property Specialist designation for marketing luxury residential properties. To obtain the design must meet performance criteria and complete a course. New designees are Bellevue agents Ken Bell, Beth Billington, Bill Brubaker, Tere Foster, Bob Lewis, Patricia Love, Bev Parsons, Sue Sherwood, Elinor Smith, Judy Tassone and Mark von der Burg; Duvall agents Pat Grady, Carol Simonson and Fred Simonson; Seattle Metro on Capitol Hill agent Michael Herren; Seattle Metro on Lake Union agents Terry Miller, Rick Miner, Barbara Otterson, Paula Parks and Sylvia Vikingstad; Redmond agent Steve Honnen; Issaquah agent Karen Jensen; and Mercer Island agents Stephanie St. Mary and Meg Wilson.

Seattle Mortgage Co.

Seattle Mortgage Co., the largest, independent mortgage banking company in Washington and one of less than 50 independent mortgage banks in the country, is now processing residential mortgages on the Internet at its newly enhanced Web site. Seattle Mortgage has contracted with Seattle-based KeyStroke, a multi-lender mortgage marketplace on the Internet.

Dennis Hartman joins Deloitte & Touche as management solutions and services senior manager. Hartman brings 13 years of experience to the Seattle-based consulting firm.

Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe

Governor Gary Locke has appointed Daniel M. Caine as chair of the Governors Small Business Improvement Council. Caine serves as special counsel in the Seattle office of Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe.

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A

The Portland region of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. has named James Colon as its new general manager. Colon previously held the position of assistant manager and has 19 years of experience with Toyota.

Newport Bay Restaurant

Newport Bay Restaurant has promoted Jerome Duncan to chef and Brian McConnell to general manager of the new Newport Bay Restaurant located in Tukwila. Duncan was chef in Newport Bays Salem, Ore., location. McConnell has been working for Newport Bays parent company, Pacific Coast Restaurants.

Rolling Thunder Marketing

Rolling Thunder Marketing, the Kirkland-based high-tech PR and new-media marketing agency, has added nine employees to its team. John Davis will serve as senior account coordinator. Monica Florenco, Andrea Lee, Laura Lucchesi, Michiko Murakami and Sharon Thomas join the company as account coordinators. Joanne Sharpe is a new account manager and Larry Meadows will serve as senior account manager.

Kidder, Mathews & Segner

Jeffrey S. Lyon, a vice chairman of Kidder, Mathews & Segner, is the Washington State CCIM Chapter Broker of the Year. He was recognized for his role in the Tosco/Bank of America transaction in Costa Mesa, Calif. He and Larry Blackett of Kidder, Mathews & Segner and Travers Realty were part of the team hired to sublease 216,000 square feet of office occupied by Tosco in a building that was owned by Bank of America. They ultimately negotiated an agreement with Bank of America to take back the space, which resulted in substantial savings to Tosco and enabled Bank of America to release the space at a more favorable rate. A CCIM, or Certified Commercial Investment Member, is a recognized professional in commercial real estate services.
