Christine Allen, public service counsel at Foster Pepper & Shefelman, has developed a curriculum for a fully staffed free program designed to teach individuals how to represent themselves in court. Individuals who represent themselves in court, known as pro se litigants can now enroll in the complimentary classes at the Seattle law firm by contacting Allen at (206) 447-5347 or emailing her at allec@foster.com.
Bradley A. Evens has joined the Seattle law firm of Short Cressman & Burgess as an associate. Evens was formerly with the law firm Foster Pepper & Shefelman. He splits his practice between the areas of family law and commercial litigation. Evens is also a recently appointed board member of Family Services.
Northwest Research Group, a full-service market research firm in Bellevue, announced the addition of Laurie Tierney as project director. Tierney past experience includes starting and managing her own research consulting company, for which she worked as an independent contractor and supplier of market research services to local and national clients.
Mirimar Recordings, a company specializing in distributing, producing and licensing market-driven entertainment, announced that executive director Russ Martin has been promoted to president of the company. Before joining Miramar in 1998, Martin served as national director of sales for Precision Sound Marketing. GLY Construction has added four new staff members, including project engineers Jason Boyd, Joy Jacobson and Brian Perkins, and project manager Dave Snaring.
Boyd holds bachelor's degrees in construction management and business from Washington State University. He is working on construction management and sitework development for Quadrant's 98-acre Redmond Ridge Business Park.
Jacobson is providing medical equipment technical assistance for tenant improvement projects located at Overlake Hospital Medical Office Tower. Prior to working at GLY, Jacobson worked in the architecture field for 15 years, and is a licensed architect. She holds bachelor's degrees in architecture and architectural studies from Washington State University.
Perkins holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington. He is providing engineering at Quadrant Willows Corporate Center, a 29-acre business park located in Redmond.
Snaring is managing the construction of the Overlake Hospital Surgery Remodel and Expansion project. He spent the last 14 years managing all types of construction projects in the Puget Sound area. He holds a bachelor's degree in building construction from the University of Washington.
Evergreen Building Products has announced that Paul Hopp has become sales manager. Hopp joined Evergreen in 1996 with an extensive background in construction practices and finishes. He will help develop marketing and promotions strategies, as well as direct residential and commercial sales for the company. He will oversee offices in Port Angeles, Bellingham, Tacoma and Seattle.
Drury Construction was recognized for its safety record at a recent AGC Retro breakfast. The commercial contractor was awarded a "Superior Performance for Safety and Loss Control" and received a 74 percent refund on its Labor and Industries premium through the AGC Retro Program.

Paul Jackson, a senior health and safety and environmental consultant, has joined AHM Services Corp., as the principal and director of operations at its new office in SeaTac. AHM's serves primarily construction project management. It provides management solutions for construction safety and hazardous material concerns, and also provides related laboratory services.
