Digital Harmony Technologies

Digital Harmony Technologies, a Seattle-based developer of digital media networking technologies, announced the addition of two senior management executives to support its efforts within the semiconductor and consumer electronics industries. The new members of the senior management team will drive sales and marketing efforts for Digital Harmony in delivering its FireWire solutions to licensees and partners. Larry Morrell joins the company as vice president of sales and marketing for semiconductor products. John Robson is the new vice president of sales.

Willows Lodge

James Simkins has been appointed general manager of the Willows Lodge, an 88-room boutique hotel opening in Woodinville in September. Simkins has more than 20 years of experience in management with Westin Hotels and Resorts, where he worked at five properties worldwide. Willow Lodge is being developed by Phillip Sherburne and Tony Puma and will be operated by MTM Management, with Simkins as a partner in the development.

KJR-FM

KJR-FM, a Seattle-based classic hits radio station, has named Rick Carter general sales manager. In his new position, Carter's primary responsibilities include overseeing all sales initiatives including local, national and regional sales. He will also play a key role in management and motivational activities for his nine-member staff.

Propeller Club

The Propeller Club, Port of Seattle Chapter, has named Senator Slade Gorton Maritime Elected Official of the Year. During his three Senate terms, Gorton was the author of the Shipping Reform Act of 1984, co-author of the Shipping Reform Act of 1998 and a prime advocate for the Maritime Security Program. The non-profit organization promotes maritime commerce in the Puget Sound region and supports the American Merchant Marine.

KNCB Dave

Seattle advertising and public relations agency KNCB Dave recently added Amy Mauldin to its advertising team. Mauldin is an advertising account executive. Before joining KNCB Dave, she was marketing programs manager at eCharge Corp., a Seattle-based Internet company.

BioGenetic Ventures

BioGenetics Ventures, a Spokane-based company that invests in the development and commercialization of emerging scientific research, announced a partnership with The Heart Institute of Spokane. Under the terms of the deal, BioGenetics will invest $1 million to fund a joint initiative advancing cardiovascular research focused on atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries.

Poe Construction

Auburn's Poe Construction has added Patty Fink as its administrative supervisor, Janet Wolanzyk in the accounting department and Andy Harmer as a project manager. Fink directs the company's contract production, oversees insurance and bonding requirements, coordinates employee policies and supervises the administrative staff. Wolanzyk is working with Poe project managers for payouts and billings, posting purchase orders and subcontracts, and updating management reports. Harmer is working as a project manager for small projects. His responsibilities include preconstruction services, estimating, subcontractor bidding, project meetings and overseeing construction quality. He is a graduate of the University of Washington Construction Management program.

Mayes Testing Engineers

Jennifer Hempel has been promoted to marketing and communications manager at Mayes Testing Engineers' Everett and Tacoma offices. Hempel is a graduate of Bethel College in Minnesota and has over five years of marketing and communications experience.

CSI

The Construction Specifications Institute has elected James A. Chaney as its 2000-01 national president. Chaney is president and general manager of McKenzie Commercial Contractors of Eugene, Ore. He joined CSI in 1983 and has been a member of the association's Willamette Valley, Portland and Capital chapters.

CertainTeed

Building products giant CertainTeed Corp. has opened a 125,000-square-foot office and service center on Lombard Road in the Port of Portland area of Portland. The office and service center will distribute insulation products throughout the northwestern United States, primarily to customers in Oregon, Washington and western Idaho. The local area will have one-day service.
